People say you should write the book you always wanted to read. This book is it. But I didnt write it for me. I wrote it for the girl with the long brown hair that I see walking to school in the mornings. Her acne reminds me of mine. I see her long sleeves and thick tights, regardless of the weather, and wonder if shes hiding her skin for the same reasons that I hid mine.

When I struggled with acne, eczema, and psoriasis, it was the early 1990s. I didnt have the Internet, and I didnt know anyone else who suffered with their skin. On the plus side, I couldnt spend hours online looking for weird and wonderful cures, but it was very isolating. I looked around me and saw no one who looked like me or understood what I was going through.

Now I see lots of people who are going through the same thing. If youre one of these people, then this book is for you too. But I also see people making the same mistakes I did. Cutting things out of their diets, possibly unnecessarily, and spending a fortune on skincare programs that did nothing but exacerbate my skin issues. I see people believing that medication to manage the symptoms is the only way forward, and I see my desperation from the past reflected in their words.

I work with a community of people through my website www.thelifestylecircle.com to help them make lifestyle changes to get their best skin. I help people to make new, healthier habits that they can maintain long term.

There are many ways to heal the skin. I wrote this book to tell others struggling with their skin what worked for me. I recognise that what worked for me might not work for everyone. But it will undoubtedly work for some people. If it takes a few years off the search for your solution, then Im happy. The more we talk about whats working for us, the fewer people who will suffer from these life-affecting skin conditions.

I struggled for 10 years with my skin when only a few simple tweaks to my diet were needed. These tweaks, though simple, took time for me to figure out and to implement.

The world of healthy eating is cluttered with fad diets and conflicting viewpoints. Theres lots of information on weight loss, heart health, blood pressure, and diabetes, but its still rare to find a book that talks specifically about what we eat and the health of our skin.

Change can be hard, but its even harder changing something youve probably been doing the same way all of your life your eating habits.

If youre suffering from acne, eczema, or psoriasis, you might also suffer from irritable bowel syndrome, headaches, and sinus issues. I know this because I had these symptoms too. And as youll discover, theres a good chance that many of your symptoms are linked.

Some of these conditions are so commonplace that weve begun to think of them as normal. Theyre not. As my skin cleared, all of these other health conditions eased or disappeared too. You dont need to put up with these things every day.

Despite being told many times that my skin conditions were not related to my diet, I knew that couldnt be true. What I was eating must have had some connection to the state of my skin.

Let me get the necessary disclaimer out of the way. This book is not nutritional advice, nor is it a diet plan giving you meal plans and shopping lists. Its a book about changing your eating habits, which are fundamental to how healthy you, and your skin, are.

We all know eating an apple is better for us than eating a cake. We dont need a book to tell us that. But having knowledge and applying knowledge are two different things.

Through this book, I will teach you a system to apply what you already know to be true healthy eating practices.

Ive created your action plan. Ive developed the tools you need and thought about how to overcome the obstacles that will inevitably crop up. All you need to do is follow along with this book, and you will change your eating habits for the better. Changing my eating habits was key to relieving my acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Changing your eating habits might finally be the thing that brings you relief too.

My goal with this book is to provide you with a quick read, actionable advice, and tools you can start using today.

I dont want to take you through a temporary program that doesnt give you lasting results. I want to inspire a permanent life change for you.
