H ello and thank you so much for buying this book. I have been following the vegetarian keto lifestyle for some time now and I have personally had a lot of success with it. I will be honest with you straight from the start. My results took some time and I did not find it easy especially when first starting out. For one the information at the time was often conflicting and difficult to understand. Add to this that everyones body and mind is unique and so what works for some may not work for others. The keto vegetarian lifestyle wont suit everyone but there are some real benefits for those who want it badly enough to stick with it.

Oftentimes no one is keen to tell you this but the reality is that this takes time, patience, persistence, an element of trial and error and experimentation to see what works for you. If you can start with this mindset then the results will come and when they do it will change your life.

The content in this book is based on my own tried and tested methods and recipes that Ive had success with and I believe that you will too but bear in mind what I said above about experimenting a little. For example you may think that some of the food groups and recipes and are either too high or too low in carbs for your personal goals which I have no way of knowing. You can still enjoy the odd higher carb day as long as you get back on track. Some days I really crave something sweet and Ive found that I can have it if I really I feel like it and still remain in ketosis. Your body lets you away with it as long as you do everything else correctly and exercise the right way. Its about balance after all. Whats the point in denying yourself a little of what you love?

I hope that you enjoy the book and get a lot of value from it. It is worth repeating that your results are in direct proportion the effort that you put it. It is my hope that this book simplifies things for you and fast tracks your success. I wish you luck!

We know what a Vegetarian is but what is Keto?

K eto diets have been shown in multiple studies to be able to improve your health by lowering your weight. Its been shown to be a good way to combat diabetes, cancer, epilepsy, and Alzheimer's disease. It immediately resonated with me because I have a family history of Diabetes and since I also happen live in the West of Scotland-the heart attack capital of the world-I am particularly interested in the health boosting benefits of Keto. (see more on Keto at the end of this book)

In very broad terms you are replacing the number of carbs you burn with an increased amount of fat. Soon, the body begins to burn fat to create energy, and ketones are manufactured, which can supply the brain and body with energy. Ketogenic diets reduce blood sugar and insulin levels, which can help prevent diabetes. Okay, so in my mind, it sounds like running your car on high-octane fuel, so it can get the gunk out of the valves and run more efficiently.
