The Difference Between Baking Powder & Baking Soda:
Baking powder actually has cream of tartar in it. It also includes a drying agent which is usually a starch. Neither of these are actually in baking soda. If youre using baking soda in a recipe that requires baking powder, youd need to use cream of tartar.
