Praise for Jodee Blanco and the New York Times Bestseller Please Stop Laughing at Me...
From cover to cover, Blanco reasons through what happened to her, laying the groundwork for what may become an anti-bullying Bible.
Illinois Association of School Boards
... the authors courageous and honest memoir of the years she spent as the victim of her contemporaries points smartly to the inability of adults to deal with issues of serious bullying.
Publishers Weekly
Many will take comfort both in the universality of the experiences and in Blancos transformation from an unhappy, embittered ugly duckling to a poised, accomplished swan. Others, if they are honest, just might recognize bullying tendencies in themselves and become sufficiently chagrined to reexamine their views and actions toward nonconformists of all stripes.
School Library Journal
Blancos story is often painful to read, but her eventual success and triumph over the past are inspiring.
Booklist
Please Stop Laughing at Me... is honest and upfront. I highly recommend this work for parents and educators....
Hispanic Magazine
Its important that all kids read Please Stop Laughing at Me... to realize the severe physical and emotional damage students receive at school. Its an important read for parents and teachers.... Readers will not be left laughing at the pranks and jokes played on Jodee, but wondering how human beings could treat each other this way. It leaves a long-lasting impression that will change the way you look at the loners and popular kids in your school or community.
St. Petersburg Times
A must-read for youth... most definitely there is hope for victims of peer abuse.
Philadelphia Tribune
Please Stop Laughing at Me... should be required reading for every child in school. Jodee Blancos relentless audacity for doing the right thing should be taught to all of our children.

Judging by the standing ovation Jodee Blanco received at Valparaiso High School, her message about bullying got through to students.
Valparaiso Post Tribune
Later that day, when Blanco was leaving the school, a teacher stopped her and said, Thanks for giving that student a hug. The teacher told Blanco that particular student was the most popular student in school but was also the biggest bully, adding that she would never bully anyone again after Blancos speech.

Authors Note
When I wrote Please Stop Laughing at Me..., I knew I had a story worth telling, I just never imagined it would become so successful that there would be a demand for a sequel. In both books, some of the characters are composites, assembled from more than one actual person, but the story is true. Ive also changed certain names, dates, and places in the interest of protecting peoples privacy.

Acknowledgments
I f it werent for the following people, this book wouldnt exist. They were my strength and my inspiration, and I will forever be in their debt:
Kent Carroll, my editor, mentor, and most cherished friend, who gave his heart and soul to this project. Thank you for believing in me, even on those days when I didnt believe in myself. You are the reason I had the courage to write this book.
Eileen, the Little General Hunsicker, who put her life on hold and sacrificed everything to join my crusade against school bullying. Your love and support were my oxygen. And I would also like to thank Jeffrey, her husband, whose unselfishness knows no bounds, and her daughter Jillian and son Jeff. You are what every family should be.
Dee Salinas, my comfort and sunlight, and the person I rely on most to protect me from myself. Im convinced that you were the inspiration for Wonder Woman. And Nicky and Joey, thank you for sharing your mom with me.
My cousin Jeanine Woolet, who never allowed me to feel alone, especially during those long weeks spent writing day and night, worried that I wouldnt finish this book. I cannot thank you enough.
Kathy Gibbons thank you for taking care of my pets so that I could stay locked away in my writing studio. Youll never know the peace of mind you gave me.
Don Deet Taylor, who provided a much-needed port in a storm and who also helped me to understand post-traumatic stress disorder. I owe you a brick at the Farmers Daughter.
My amazing stepdaughters, Amber and Valerie Pantaleo, you are my greatest teachers.
Dr. Damptz, who helped me hold on to my self-worth when the world was ripping it out of my hands. You are more than my family doctor. You are family.
Becky Heim and her children Bailey, Tayler, and Matthew Cookie Foot, who blessed me with their love and light, and who inspired much of the wisdom in this book.
My dear friend Candace Kent for always being there for me.
Dean Mr. Wonderful Stump, who taught me that some friendships are worth waiting for no matter how long it takes. The love and respect we have for each other is not only an important part of this book, its also one of the reasons Im able to give so many kids hope.
My publisher, Glenn Yeffeth, and the caring, dedicated team at BenBella Books. You are a comfort and a blessing, and I thank God every day that Im being published by you.
The thousands of students, parents, educators, and adult survivors who left their indelible imprint on my soul and whose stories are commemorated in these pages. This book is in honor of your grace, courage, and unrelenting ability to love.
Thank you all.
