To my husband, Emerson V. Steele: Thank you for supporting me in the ministry that God has assigned to me and your humbleness to allow your own redemption to be shared in this book. Thank you for recognizing the mask I was wearing and for giving me the strength and courage to remove it. I truly believe that you were predestined to be my offspring and God gave us to each other. For this, I am so grateful. Thank you, Mommy, for the many sacrifices you made for me, for opening your big heart to take a little baby girl and shower her with comfort and love. I thank both of you for your support, forgiveness, guidance, discipline, and love. Youve not only shown and exposed me to so many wonderful things, but you have also done the same for your grandchildren and this is something that we will always treasure.

To my sister, Courtni Jo-L Edwards Brown Weathers: I thank you for being a wonderful aunt, my biggest cheerleader, friend, and confidant. Youve allowed me to share many joyful and painful things with you while always leaving me with words of encouragement and reminding me that you have my back. We share a bond like no other.

Evangelist, First Lady, Prophetess Joanna B. Coles, my spiritual mother: There is not a day that goes by that I do not thank God for that faithful day He brought you into my life. Your outpouring of wisdom, prayers, counsel, love, and guidance have truly been a blessing to me. Thank you for your support and encouragement, especially during those difficult times while writing this book exposed the areas of my life that werent completely healed. You are a gift to me from God.

To Bishop and the late Pastor MacKall: You were that ram in the bush. I will forever be thankful to you both; because of you, I began to turn back to God and accept the calling and assignments on my life. Thank you for ministering to me, taking me under your tutelage, and for your many days and hours of laboring with me at the altar. This became the spiritual turning point in my life.

Lastly, to my great-grandparents, the late Bishop Arthur R. Christian and Lillian Christian: If it had not been for you anointing my head and praying over me at such a young age, where would I be? Im thankful to you for living all you knew how for the Lord and for being that godly example that a little girl could see and remember for all her days. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and your labor was not in vain.

You should greatly rejoice in what is waiting for you, even if now for a little while you have to suffer various trials. Suffering tests your faith which is more valuable than gold (remember that gold, although it is perishable, is tested by fire) so that if it is found genuine, you can receive praise, honor, and glory when Jesus the Anointed, our Liberating King, is revealed at last.

Peter 1:6-7

Diamonds are formed under extreme heat and unfounded torque. Gold also requires intense temperatures in order to be refined and produce the purest twenty-four karats. Life has a way of creating extreme situations; some are beyond our wildest imagination.

Two years ago, while ministering at a womens retreat, I met a beautiful woman with a heart of gold, as resilient as a diamond. After spending time with her, I realized that her natural, statuesque grace and beauty were a complete contrast to her past; her elegance was not a faade to cover all the unnatural pain she had endured, but a genuine residual result of the perpetual hand of God in and on her life. I often listen to individuals give their testimonies of past trials, of how they were raped, did drugs, or were molested; and then theyd share how their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ delivered and brought them out.
