I love you. Patience T he day you brought me home is the day my life changed forever. They say we dogs are the most patient animals in the world, and we can teach our human best friends the meaning of patience, but dont believe them. I know what its like to be impatient too. I know what its like to be so impatient just knowing whenever you must leave me so you can do the things you must do each day in your life, and how much I dont want you to go. I know how it feels to see you go and then think about how soon youll be coming back home to be with me, and how excited and anxious I am going to be to see and hear you walk in the door.

I know how it feels to not be patient when I know were going to go for a walk or a ride in the car or when you are making me my favorite dinner or are about to give me a biscuit or a treat because anything you do makes me feel so happy. I know what its like to be so impatient when I hear you squeaking the new toy you just got for me, and how much I want you to give it to me so I can hold it in my mouth and shake my head from side to side and make it squeak before I get to tear it all apart and find the hidden squeaking prize inside and then smile at you when I pull it out. I know what its like to be so excited and not have the patience to wait any longer for the time when its time for us to relax, with you in your favorite sofa or chair and me sitting close to you and just knowing you are always in my sight and close by. And I know how impatient I am, as I count down the time to when its time for us to go night-night and to sleep, so I can be in our bed with you. And when, after youve turned out the lights, and get into bed and tell me I love you and Good night, how I love to turn around in circles and find my favorite curled up place and then give you my big sigh that says, Night-night, my best buddy. I cant wait to wake up with you in the morning.

I love you. Thats the moment when I know patience. And the reason I know it, is all because of you. I love you. Unconditional Love T he way you love me is the way I love to be loved best. You dont care how I look, and its the same with me for you too.

What would the world be like if people didnt care what anyone looked like, how young or old or skinny or heavy they were, where they lived, what kind of car they drove, what kind of clothes and shoes they wore, how much money they had in their wallet or purse, what they said or didnt say, did or didnt do? Ever wonder what it would be like to live in that world? I can tell you. Its great. Its the world I live in every day because all I care about, and will ever care about, is you. The only thing that matters to me is for us to be together. Thats it. Everything else is silly people stuff that at the end of the day means nothing.

You see, my love for you knows no limits. It knows no boundaries. It knows no preconditions. And any word you use to describe the power of the love I feel for you would always be lacking unless it was one wordunconditional. So stop for a moment because I want to tell you something. You dont have to buy me anything because I already love you.

You dont have to work long hours doing anything you dont enjoy just to get a promotion or title. None of that matters because I already love you. We dont have to live in the fanciest house, have the nicest furnishings or eat the best food. None of that matters because I already love you. When we were made for each other, everything we would ever need for our greatest happiness together was given to us. And when we saw each other for the first time and knew we would be together for the rest of our livesnow and to comethats the moment I knew what unconditional love feels like.

And my best friend, I want you to know it is amazing. And the reason I know it, is all because of you. I love you. Forget and Forgive I ts okay. Go ahead and say it. There have been times when you raised your voice to me, ignored me, maybe even gave me a little spanking because you didnt like something I did.

And afterwards, it made you feel terrible for doing it. Maybe even guilty and ashamed. And the whole time I watched you go through such unhappy feelings, I kept looking at you and asking Why? Because the moment the words and actions stopped, was the moment I forgot about them and forgave you completely, without condition, because I knew you were only doing what you thought was best at that moment in your life. You see, I dont care about or remember those people things that make people so unhappy, like hurtful words and tones of voice. I dont care about or remember those people things like being silent just to ignore, get back at, or punish someone. I dont care about or remember the words and hurts that someone said or did that happened five years ago, much less 10 seconds ago.
