Praise for Sacred Oils
A healer of extraordinary power, Felicity Warner shares her considerable knowledge with warmth and love. A book not to be missed.
JUDY HALL, AUTHOR OF THE CRYSTAL BIBLE AND THE CRYSTAL COMPANION
Working with the sacred oils demands sensitivity, experience, insight, inspiration and deepest respect. These are all qualities that I use to describe soul midwife, healer and author Felicity Warner. Through this book, she empowers you to step safely and powerfully into another healing dimension with the sacred oils.
RHIANNON LEWIS, EDITOR OF THE INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF CLINICAL AROMATHERAPY AND FOUNDER OF BOTANICA INTERNATIONAL AROMATHERAPY CONFERENCES

DAILY EXPRESS
The woman who wants to make dying more dignified.
WOMANS WEEKLY
In this moving book, Felicity has encapsulated the wisdom of the ages into practical examples of how to BE with the dying; how to honour and hold that sacred space for everyone as they prepare to make the journey that we all must take.
ANITA MOORJANI, AUTHOR OF DYING TO BE ME
It is wonderful that Felicity Warners Soul Midwives now have a handbook for practical use. As vigiling reclaims its rightful place at the bedside, The Soul Midwives Handbook emerges as a useful and timely tool for those who are called to this sacred work.
MEGORY ANDERSON PHD, AUTHOR OF SACRED DYING
By providing loving and gentle support, Felicity and the Soul Midwives support people to have the death that they want. What could be more important?

This book is dedicated to those who have kept this sacred and ancient tradition alive.
For those who have ears to hear and eyes to see where the nous lies, there is the treasure.
Go and catch a falling star,
Get with child a mandrake root,
Tell me where all past years are,
Or who cleft the devils foot;
Teach me to hear mermaids singing,
Or to keep off envys stinging,
And find
What wind
Serves to advance an honest mind.
If thou best born to strange sights,
Things invisible to see,
Ride ten thousand days and nights
Till age snow white hairs on thee;
Thou, when thou returnst, wilt tell me
All strange wonders that befell thee,
And swear
No where
Lives a woman true and fair.
If thou findst one, let me know,
Such a pilgrimage were sweet;
Yet do not, I would not go,
Though at next door we might meet.
Though she were true when you met her,
And last till you write your letter,
Yet she
Will be
False, ere I come, to two, or three.
SONG: GO AND CATCH A FALLING STAR, JOHN DONNE
Contents
Without the loving and loyal support of my husband, Richard, this book might have remained a scattered collection of notes and diaries. In always choosing to take the path less travelled, my curiosity and passion for exploring the inner realms have made me a nomadic time-traveller of sorts rather than staying at home to get the supper on the table and the ironing done. Richard ensures that our hearth is tended and warm, and that the cats, Zennor, Sorcha and Padstow, are fed.
Id also like to thank all those who have helped me in other ways.
Michelle Pilley and her amazing team at Hay House; the intuitive and gentle Jane Struthers for weaving such magic; and my agent, Chelsey Fox, for supporting my work and for her constant encouragement.
My lovely daughters, Daisy and Lusea; my granddaughters, Matilda, Amelie and Beatrice, and the new baby on the way, for making me smile so much.
My dear PA, Samantha Martin, for being my loyal and fantastic gatekeeper.
My wonderful, compassionate and loving soul midwives, too many to mention personally, but especially Mandy, Dee, Krista, Wendy, Jude, Suzi, Michael and William, who give me endless love and support.
To my dear friends, including Mel Bailey and Buster for teaching me to ride; and to Sarah Peters, my oldest friend, who made flower perfumes with me when we were children.
To Sir John Tavener for opening portals through sound and energy; and to Lucy M. Boston for inspiring me with her writing and whole way of being.
To Lys De Grasse; and, of course, Mary Magdalene, the greatest teacher of all time.
Essential oils have become familiar to many of us in recent decades. They can easily be bought online and in health-food shops, and can be used for everything from putting a few drops in a diffuser to scent a room to adding a combination of oils to a bath and dabbing some on a pillow to encourage restful sleep. Aromatherapists, who work professionally with the oils, use them to treat many ailments, both mental and physical.
Sacred oils are different. Theyre a small group of essential oils that, as their name suggests, have special energies and sacred properties. Some of them, such as Rose and Patchouli, may already be known to you (although possibly for different purposes), while you may be meeting others, such as Opoponax and Ravensara, for the first time. As youll discover in Sacred Oils, Ive worked with these oils for many years, especially in the course of my work as a soul midwife (a spiritual and holistic therapist for the dying). Almost all of these oils have an age-old lineage, which I describe in the book; although one of them is a very recent and valuable addition, whose time has come because its energy is now needed by the world.
