Originally devised by the ancient Egyptians, our familiar deck of 52 playing cards was first used as a divination and time-keeping tool. Author Sharon Jeffers has researched and recovered the mystical language of the cards in this beautifully designed, four-color gift book.

Using the Love and Destiny divination system, readers discover:

  • Ancient secrets about the cards as oracles of life and relationships
    • Their true personality type and who is the best type of person with which to be in a relationship
    • Types of people with whom to avoid having a relationship
    • Guidance in all of lifes relationships, in addition to romantic attachments

The ancient, mystical system presented in Love and Destiny is unsurpassed in its delineations of the character and nature of relationshipstheir strengths and weaknesses, the lessons presented, the opportunities that exist, and last but not least, what each relationship needs most to find its fullest potential. Using the Love and Destiny system to see what a relationship is really about is a powerful way for readers to gain great self-mastery with choice over their lives and relationships.

Much gratitude to the great team of wonderful people that composes the soulful body of Hampton Roads Publishing Company; thank you for your support, for embracing this project with such enthusiasm, and for creating this beautiful book. Special thanks to Jack Jennings and Greg Brandenburgh, for your interest and insight, and to Jane Hagaman and Tania Seymour, for your warm welcome, artistic sense, great direction, and support.

To Jo Ann Deck, for her kind support and unfaltering guidance in a time when I most needed it, thank you for being there. To Bill Gladstone, for his initial recognition of my work. To Amy Rost, for her insight and skill as an editor, and her willingness to listen for the voice of the oracle. To my dear friends who called and emailed in the final days of this project with encouragement, love, and support. I now believe that it takes a village to write a book, and if I forgot any villagers, please forgive me; I am grateful to all of you.

Tom Johnson, royal salutes to you for your brilliant work with this oracle. I am so grateful for the time we spent together while you were on this planet. You are a true grand master of the Magi.

Here's to the relationship book that we almost wrote, my friend. I know you're still here in spirit, and you will be missed. Bless you on your journey.

And, to my beloved son Spencer, who through his journey here and in spirit has brought me to be where I am in my life. You carried me to my destiny. I love you and I miss you beyond what words can say. To my one and only Jon, you are a magnificent son and I am so blessed to have you in my life. Thank you for your love, support, and unending wisdom. Please keep me laughing until I die.

To the Order of the Magiyou certainly make your agendas clear, one way or another. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity.

    Thank you.

    Introduction

It's so easy to feel alone sometimes, we try to fit in each other's dreams, but somehow I know there's a real connection, soaring so deep, inside you and me.

From the song It's a Real Love by Fuzzbee Morris and Kim O'Leary

W hat is it that drives us to be in relationship? Is it the need to be loved? Is it a need to love another? Is it both? Is it because we feel empty when were alone? Or is it simply that we are meant to share our lives intimately with others so that we have someone to bear witness to that fact that we actually exist?

Within each one of us there is a tendency to think of ourselves as being alone and separate from the rest of the world. The great philosophers, spiritual teachers, and quantum physicists tell us differently. The collective agreement of the higher minds of humanity suggests that we all are one and that, indeed, we all are connected. If this is so, is it then our limited perceptions and unconscious beliefs that keep us from embracing our oneness with humanity and life itself? Is it our lack of this awareness that causes our loneliness and feelings of separation? And is it loneliness that motivates us to make uninformed, unconscious decisions regarding our relationship choices? Perhaps the answer to all of these questions is yes.

In presenting the material in this book, I do not profess to be a relationship expert. I'm not a therapist, nor do I have a degree in relationship counseling. I am, however, someone who has been blessed and gifted with profound knowledge from an ancient source of wisdom that reveals the most significant insights that we can have regarding our connections with one anotherwhy they exist, what they bring to us, and what can be found within them.

I have worked with thousands of people, facilitating their personal transformation, for more than twenty-five years. In my studies I have learned and applied some of the profound methodologies, such as applied kinesiology, light therapy, behavior and educational kinesiology, numerology, and astrology. I've worked with young children and parents, kids at risk and prison inmates, police academy instructors, teachers, corporations, health institutions, and celebrities. In all my years of training, teaching, and facilitating, and with all that I have done, all of which has been very valuable, the information that I share in this book is, to me, the most important thing for me to share at this time in my life. I value this ancient system because it reveals precisely who we are as individuals and as a whole as humanity, what our destiny is in life, and who we are when were in relationship with one another.

The information in these pages is a small fraction of a mystical science gifted to humanity by the Ancient Order of the Magi. This ancient system has changed my life and the lives of others. Knowing and understanding, first, who we are and the energetic composition that we embody as individuals and, second, how that energy transforms to express itself when we are with another can give us amazing insights into our relationships. As you read on, may you be delighted as you discover the secret language that has been whispering in our ears for a very long time. And may you be empowered to see yourself and others with greater wisdom, understanding, and compassion.
