By spending quality time with her daughter, a Christian mom can protect her against peer pressure to mature too quickly and guide her toward true, life-enhancing friendships.

Dannah Gresh, bestselling author of Six Ways to Keep the Little in Your Girl and creator of the Secret Keeper Girl events, has developed fun and strategic dating ideas to help moms invest time to deeply interact with their tween girls about friends. Talking with Your Daughter About Best Friends and Mean Girls tackles questions such as

  • How can I have and be a friend?
    • Just what is real friendship?
    • What or who is the source of friendship?
    • What do I do when I face a mean girl?
    • How should I approach friendship with boys?

Moms (and dads) will be delighted with the biblical grounding and godly guidance that will help them build deeper connections with their daughters and protect them in their friendships.

Praise for 8 great dates about best friends and mean girls from moms who have completed them

[The dates] were God-willed. You would be amazed at how God worked in our lives through them.

I love spending time with my daughter and having Secret Keeper Girl dates with her makes our time together even more special. Whats great about each date is that they focus on different aspects of friendshipsomething I wasnt taught as a girl.

My favorite date was the one with Dad. I just loved to see the girls faces light up when he answered questions about them and reaffirmed their inner beauty and told of the wonderful things that God has planned for themI am keeping this kit to reuse with our younger daughter when she is older. Looking forward to having great times of fun and discussion with her as well!

We have a small group at church doing these dates together. I think we have all enjoyed themits hard to say which I like most! My daughter doesnt have any siblings so I think she enjoyed borrowing a sister and ding-dong-ditching. We actually did it a couple more times! Loved the whole thing, though!

The date on mean girls was the most memorable one for my daughter. After we got home from the mall challenge that taught us how love is slow to boil, she was so convicted about putting pressure on friends, she just cried and cried. I told her this was GREAT news because if she wasnt convicted then no change would happen. God loves it when we want to grow!

The dates are awesome! During the shopping challenge date, I stood back to see what she would pick. I was amazedat one point she held her arm out of the curtain saying, Return this dressit isnt modest. It helped me know she was starting to change, and I wouldnt have noticed if not for the date!

As a child of a single mom who tried to be both mother and father, there is so much I did not learn growing up that I am now trying to instill in my daughters. SKGs 8 great dates have forced us to go out regularly and talk about all the things I never heard as a child[these dates] are a tool to use to start the conversations with our daughters, and for that I am thankful!

We did the dates and loved them! My daughter still implements the bod squad rules and I truly think her view on modesty and purity was developed with the help of this kit!

We enjoyed it very much. Love the memorization of the love chapter (1 Corinthians 13). It was great to witness our connection grow and evolve, and my daughter would agree.

    A Big SKG Squeeze to

My dear friends at Harvest House, including LaRae Weikert, Terry Glaspey, Paul Gossard, Christianne Debysingh, Barb Sherrill, and the whole crew . How tenured this faithful team is, and how very grateful I am that you see the value of the Secret Keeper Girl message. (Dont forget Terry the next time you stop for lunch, LaRae!)

And thanks to The Resource Agency/Mike Keil , who introduced me to my friends at Harvest House.

BarlowGirlRebecca, Alyssa, and Lauren jumped in to share secrets about friendship on the SKG kit audio downloads. There are few women who have come through the contemporary Christian music scene who I respect more. While recording and touring, they lived out the principles of a Secret Keeper Girlmodesty, purity, true beauty, and faithful friendship. Their stories are as fun and relevant today as when they were on tour.

Kelly (Witte) Nebel served as my research assistant for this project. Jacqueline Gardner revised the edition you hold in your hand. They are big book geeks just like me!

I could never write these books without my team at Pure Freedom holding all things together. Eileen King leads that team and is a great friend.
