Preface
Prayer has saved my marriage. Period.
Several years ago, I discovered the power of specifically laying out my prayers before the Lord. I found that many of the issues I was having in my marriage were simply a prayer issue. I had failed to commit them to the Lord; therefore, inattention set in and so did anger, resentment, bitterness, and apathy. It wasnt that things were so bad in my marriage; it was just that I had failed to properly tend my garden and water it with prayer. Once I started praying specifically about my marriage, God began to show me ME more than anything. And that revelation drove me deeper into the Word and closer to the foot of the cross.
I wanted to write this book to give wives another weapon to use against the enemy. It is my desire that, no matter what stage their marriage is in, when they begin to pray these prayers, their hearts will be fertile to receive Gods instruction for their marriage. This book is specifically geared toward seasoned wives, but it is also applicable to those just starting out and wanting to get in the habit of strategically bathing their marriage in prayer and setting up a fortress against attacks from the enemy.
It is no secret that the divorce rate among Christian couples is at an astronomical level. But, why? Do we not know God, the very embodiment of Love? The reasons are multi-layered, but one thing I know for sure is that we dont have to stand idly by and let the enemy run roughshod over our marriages. It is imperative that wives pray for their husbands, for their children, and for their homes. We need to war with the tools of warfare outlined in the Word of God (Ephesians 6:10-17) and take the enemys head off! Too long we have been complacent and have allowed apathy to settle into our marriage, rebellion to set up in our children and breaches to fortify in our home. This must stop. This WILL stop! Using the Word of God as our guide, we will put on the whole armor of God, pray bold, specific prayers and WIN.THIS.WAR.
How to Use This Book:
Although the prayers are topically listed, please feel free to take the liberty to pray them as you are led. Perhaps a topic may not pertain to you at a particular season in your life, but you may know another wife who could benefit from that prayer. Why not pray it on her behalf? Or better yet, gift her with this book so that she can be empowered to pray for her marriage herself.
At the end of every prayer there is a brief REFLECTION. You will be challenged to THINK about the topic of prayer, but then I want you to take it one step further and WRITE about it. Remember, we are being strategic. We have to expose areas of weakness in our marriage so that they can be strengthened. Writing/Journaling is a great way to do just that. It gets it out of your head and heart and onto paper where you can visibly see areas that need special attention. And then finally, PRAY about it. This prayer will not be the one that was written in the book. This prayer is specific to you, your marriage & your family . This is the prayer that will be like a guided missile straight to the ears of the Father, stimulating the release of angels to war on your behalf and bring about victorious results.

Table of Contents: Prayer Topics
Love
We love each other because he loved us first.
1John 4:19 NLT
PRAY
Father, thank You for being the very epitome of love. You so loved us that You gave Your only Son. Not because we deserved it, but because Your love is just that extravagant. And we are so grateful. So my prayer is that You would give me an extravagant love for my husband that defies the messages of the world. Using You as an example, help me not to take into account wrongs, but to be patient and believe and hope in all things as it relates to my marriage. Help me to address anything in my heart or spirit that hinders me from wholly and completely loving my husband. Let me not be so hung up on the reciprocation of that love, but just be intentional in my actions, my words and the attitude of my heart because I understand now that love begets love. And if I sow seeds of love in my marriage, I am guaranteed an abundant harvest. In Jesus Name, Amen.
READ
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.
1 John 4:18 NLT
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5 NLT
This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.
John 15:12 NLT
Reflect
Think about it. Write about it. Pray about it.
If we are not careful, we can sometimes enter into our marriage with false expectations of what love really is. Romantic comedies, social media and reality shows can shape our thought processes that lead us into a fairy tale image of love. But 1 Corinthians 13 makes it blatantly clear that the abiding, agape love necessary for marriage is not about feeling warm and fuzzy, but its about a willingness to give of yourself on a level that can only be possible through Gods love for us.
How have you defined love in the past? Is it in line with the biblical examples of love? How can you duplicate those examples in your marriage?

Faith
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1 NIV
PRAY
Father, thank You for Your Word that is so full of great examples of faith. It gives me hope that You are, indeed, a God who keeps His promises. So I come to You boldly believing that You will intervene in the affairs of my marriage. I ask that where we face mountains of fear, mountains of debt, mountains of external pressure, mountains of work conflicts, mountains of family conflicts and mountains of interpersonal conflicts, Your Word would swell up in us and remind us that we are not forgotten. We are assured that if You did it before, You will surely do it again! I pray that my husbands faith will be ignited and he will confidently believe You for the impossible. Help us to stand together against internal and external forces that would seek to destroy our marriage. I declare that we will seek safety in Your Word and rise up as mighty children of valor, prepared to stand on Your promises. In Jesus Name, Amen.
