WELCOME
Hi,
My name is Imke and before we are making the first steps towards an alkaline lifestyle, let me introduce myself and explain to you why I highly recommend this way of alkaline living.
For me, healthy living means to eat a balanced diet, to move and to feel according to the principle balance your life. The relation of acids and bases is crucial for this type of lifestyle, as it is responsible in both nutrition and life for maintaining our balance. I describe how this can be achieved as well in my blog and some social media channels.
In this context I consider it important that my nutrition and lifestyle is as high in quality as possible and as simple as possible at the same time.
I like quick recipes and short, time-saving and effective fitness sessions. All this comes with a lot of fun and without pressure. It is a matter of doing something good for yourself and not to follow a philosophy dogmatically or to aspire to an ideal.
ABOUT MY WAY
To me it is important not to follow any type of diet in a dogmatic way. I would like to expressly emphasize that I eat on the basis of an alkaline surplus and not purely alkaline. Every human being has another constitution, other preconditions and has made other experiences. Only because a vegan or vegetarian diet is ideal for one person does not mean that this applies automatically to another person. However, the alkaline diet has the advantage that it can be adapted to each individual type of diet, whether vegan, low-carb or high-carb.
When I came in contact with the alkaline diet for the first time, I knew by experience that short-term weight-loss success can be frustrating in the long-term and accepted to achive my goals step by step and not from one day to the other. I felt drained and therefore I focussed this time as well on the additional strengthening of my immune system and the improvement of my complexion. I gave alkaline nutrition a chance and started totally new. It was not difficult for me to eat lots of fruits and vegetables. I liked potatoes, squash and healthy fats from almonds and coconut oil anyway. My only problem was to abstain from chocolate and wheat. But over time I found appropriate substitutes and step by step I discovered the colourful world of alkaline nutrition.
MY EXPERIENCES
Finally I got what I wanted. Clear skin, firm connective tissue and a clear mind. In the morning I am more refreshed and rested, much more balanced and calm. Overall, it became apparent to me that this healthy diet has not merely a positive impact on my body. In my opinion there is also an immense impact on the mind.
Healthy diet healthy mind....
...and here we already have the next subject. I eat alkaline because this diet has a balancing effect. But basing life on merely one single pillar which in this case is a healthy diet would result again in an imbalance. Thus this book is not only about nutrition. It is also about detox, fitness and balance in all aspects of life. I share my experiences and tips and hope that you will accompany me along this path.
If you have any questions or suggestions I look forward to hearing from you. Just send me an email.
Best wishes

PILLARS OF ALKALINE LIVING
Top up mineral levels , Reduce problem zones , Balance your life
OVERVIEW
Living alkaline means to provide our body with sufficient minerals and nutrients and to reduce acids which result from poor nutrition and an unhealthy lifestyle and to rid the body of acids at the same time.
Balance your life!
Life is movement and will always result in a state of balance. Our body tries everything to keep the ph-value in the organism on a constant level. However, often we do not only eat acidifying but we also live acidifying. Acids emerge as a result of both, consuming unhealthy foods and strenuous exercise (lactic acid), stress (hydrochloric acid) and medication (acetylsalicylic acid). Therefore it is not only beneficial to eat alkaline, but also to live alkaline.
Thus, the three fields of this book can be explained as follows:
Food - Alkaline nutrition: Mineralization through a plant-based nutrition rich in vital substances.
Detox - Cleansing: Release acids from your body with alkaline bodycare.
Relax and Move: Mental and physical balance. Reduction of stress related acids through exercise and relaxation.
I. FOOD
The first pillar is a healthy alkaline diet which provides us with all important minerals. When food is metabolized, alkaline and acidifying metabolic waste develops. Acids need to be balanced (neutralized) with the help of minerals (alkalines), in order to prevent them from harming your body. Therefore it is important to eat a diet aiming for an alkaline surplus, in order to neutralize those acids. In contrast to the acids which are produced continuously by your body, there is only a limited supply of minerals available in the body.
The more acids are formed, the higher is the usage of our mineral supplies for neutralization. Therefore, a healthy diet rich in minerals is an additional necessity when it comes to remineralisation.
