Praise for Building a Family of Faith
Andy Dooley has found a creative and engaging way to restore the value of family time that is centered around Gods Word and making it relatable, fun, and engaging. Im excited to use this book to help my family grow, as well as help the families I serve!
KEVIN L. NICKERSON, founder of GameBreakers Academy, NFL chaplain for the Los Angeles Rams
I have known Andy Dooley personally for more than six years now and can attest to the fact that he truly embodies the three foundational pillars that he is so passionate about sharing with the world: faith, family, and fitness. I love the simplicity of his approach, from powerful faith-based lessons to direct calls to action to bring the family closer together!
CHRIS POWELL, host of ABCs Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition
Far too many parents know they are supposed to be investing in their familys discipleship but feel like its more of a duty than a joy. Andy Dooley stands in the gap to make real engagement with Gods Word both practical and fun. The authenticity and passion Ive observed in him as a father comes through in his efforts as an author. Read this book with those you love mostyou will not regret it.

To my beautiful family,
who inspired me to write this
Tiffany, Hope, Skylee, Andy II, and Ava.
May we stay a close and
loving, fun family of faith.
And to my father, Tom Dooley,
who passed on to heaven
right before I started writing this book.
Thank you for demonstrating
how to be a loving family man.
You now have a new body
and will be forever missed.

Guide
A fter talking with a lot of people during the COVID-19 pandemic, I realized many families were struggling with connecting and growing together. When everyone was forced to be in close quarters with their loved ones for an extended period of time, many things were exposed in our relationships. I enjoyed having more time with my family, and my heart broke for those who didnt feel the same waywhich made me want to create a family-focused, interactive, and fun book with devotions to draw you closer to your family and nearer to God.
Youll have suggested Scriptures to read together. Have fun with those! You can have a family memorizing contest, write the weeks verse on a chalkboard or dry-erase board, create artwork based on the verse, take time every day to read and recite the verse, make up a song that uses the verse as lyrics, or get a family treat when everyone has memorized the verse.
Each devotion begins with a Lets Think about It... section that has some introductory questions the whole family can talk about before continuing with the devotion. Give everyone a chance to answer the questions and explain their answers and then launch into the next part, which will be the relatable story, teaching, and learning portion.
I include a section (Lets Talk about It...) for your family to answer questions and have meaningful conversations that encourage action and application. You can talk about the topic right then, bring it up later in the week, or just encourage family members to think about things on their own. A short family prayer is included near the end. Feel free to use this as a starting point for your own family prayer time. Each devotion closes with a Lets Act... section that suggests activities you can do together to strengthen what you learned in the devotion. Choose one or two activities to do throughout the week, which can be adapted for a variety of ages. Do what works best for you and your family!
