Introduction
M ost of us are too busy with work and other daily activities to the point that we no longer have time to prepare food for ourselves or our family especially during breakfast.
On the other hand, having a microwave oven at home would be a great solution. Would you believe it if I tell you that you can bake in it? Yes, you can. You can even cook lunch or dinner using it. The Microwave is not just for warming food anymore.
This book will contain around 40 recipes one can make using a microwave oven. It aims to help busy people prepare and make scrumptious yet nutritious meals by just using the microwave oven.
Each recipe will contain the serving size, cooking time, a list of ingredients, and cooking instructions. I will also include some tips and tricks on cooking and preparing food.

Chapter One: Microwave Cooking for Dummies
H ere are few life hacks using the microwave to make your cooking life easier and better.
- Cry no more. You can slice both the top and bottom part of an onion bulb then heat it up in the microwave for 20-30 seconds before slicing. I promise you, you wont get teary anymore.
- Spice up the spices. When you feel like your herbs and spices are no longer fragrant, just heat it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds and you can smell its aroma once again.
- Not crunchy. When your chips are no longer crunchy, just heat it up in the microwave for few seconds and you will munch on its crunch. Same goes with crackers.
- Bye fats. If you do not want your bacon all greasy, just wrap it in paper towel and cook on your microwave for 3-5 minutes.
- Toasted nuts. If you do not have an oven, you can also use your microwave oven for toasting your nuts.
- Dry dry. Need to dry fresh herbs? Just pop it in the microwave for 2-4 minutes and there you have it folks!
Chapter Two: Morning Meals
Healthy Microwave Bagel Sandwich with Egg and Veggies

Total Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 thin bagel
- cup egg whites
- Handful spinach leaves, fresh
- 1-2 slices of cheese
- 2 tomato slices
- 2-4 avocado slices
- Salt
- Hot sauce
Cooking Directions
- Toast the bagel in an toaster oven then set it aside.
- Meanwhile, put the egg whites, salt, and spinach in a microwavable bowl. Heat it up in the microwave for 90 seconds. Check every 30 seconds.
- On the toasted bagel, layer out the cheese, tomatoes, egg, and avocados. Add more cheese if you want. Drizzle some hot sauce over it. Serve and enjoy!
Easy Scrambled Eggs in a Microwave
S ervings: 1
Total Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons shredded cheese
- Salt and pepper
Cooking Directions
- Grease a ceramic mug with cooking spray or butter.
- Pour the milk and egg into the mug then whisk until well mixed.
- Heat it up in the microwave for 45 seconds then give it a stir before heating it up for another 45 seconds. Season it with salt and pepper.
- If you want, you can add cheese and herbs to make it extra especial.
Strawberry-Oats Bowl On-The-Go

Total Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup oat bran
- 1 Tbsp. ground flaxseed
- 2 Tbsp. oat flour
- 2 Tbsp. buckwheat oats
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- pinch salt
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup almond milk
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, diced
Cooking Directions
- Grease a microwaveable ramekin with cooking spray or a little butter. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix the bran, flour, ground flaxseed, buckwheat, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk all the wet ingredients: applesauce, vanilla, and almond milk. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture then stir and mix well.
- Carefully fold the strawberries into the mixture. Transfer the batter into the well-greased ramekin. Let it heat in the microwave for 90 seconds or until the top has set.
Easy to Make Breakfast Quiche

Total Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 tablespoons whole milk
- 1 teaspoon unsalted butter, melted
- Salt
- Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
- 4 small grape tomatoes, halved
- 1/8 cup torn pieces of fresh bread
- 1 tablespoon grated cheese
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh herbs, plus more for garnish
Cooking Directions
- In a well-greased microwavable mug, mix the butter, egg, and milk. Season it with salt and pepper.
- Now, add the bread, tomatoes, cheese, and herbs. Make sure to stir the mixture well so the solid ingredients will not just settle at the bottom.
- Heat the mug into the microwave for 60-90 seconds. Top it with more cheese and herbs if you want.
Quinoa with Cinnamon and Maple
S ervings: 2
Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup quinoa, washed and drained
- 1 cup cold water
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons butter
- Milk
- Maple syrup
- Banana
Cooking Directions
- In a ceramic bowl or mug, mix the quinoa, cold water, butter, and cinnamon together.
- Heat it in a microwave for 4 minutes then stir it. Put it back in the microwave and heat for another 3 minutes.
- Take the dish out of the microwave then cover the whole top with aluminum foil for 1-2 minutes.
