Slow cooking literally means to cook food slowly.
Typically, its done in a well-known appliance called a slow cooker, an electric pot that cooks your meal very slowly. You can bake, boil, or simmer with this fellow, and prepare a wide range of recipes. And its so convenient! Slow cooking for two Although slow cooking is often thought of as feeding a group, here we discuss all aspects of slow cooking for two. Slow cooking for just a pair can be a little different than conventional slow cooking. Most sources provide recipes for when you are cooking for a whole family, and recipes for two servings are not so easy to find. Simply dividing the ingredients of a high-yield recipe to make it suitable for two does not go well most of the time, and thats why this book was written.
You will find a hundred recipes for two here and from now on you do not have to worry about the results or dealing with a ton of leftovers. Slow cooking tips for two As mentioned in the previous paragraph, slow cooking for two is not exactly the same as conventional slow cooking. When cooking in your slow cooker for two people, the following tips will help you get a superior result.
- Make sure the cooker size is appropriate for the size of the recipe. A tight fit in the cooker does not yield a good result, and an oversized cooker allows the ingredients to spread out too much, and they can scorch or burn.
- Combine the ingredients properly. Because you are using a smaller proportion of liquids, thickeners, and spices, you have less flexibility and room for error.
- If there are some ingredients in granular or liquid form, mix these ingredients in a separate bowl first, and then pour them into the slow cooker.
- Always use a sufficient amount of liquid to permit even cooking. Follow the recipes carefully.
Suggested slow cooker size when cooking for two Slow cookers are available in a wide range of sizes, starting from a few cups, and going up to monster-sized eight-quart versions. When cooking for two, the best size varies from a one-quart to a three-quart cooker, depending on the recipe. So lets get started!
