Foreword

I do hormone research (really endocrinology research) and product development and essential oil product development. I am currently not specifically working with any company (this for AMA and FDA reasons) though we manufacture for several. SO please forgive me if I dont mention products of various companies with who I work, as the FDA is highly scrutinizing all these comments and claims so were just not going there.

I also do a lot of education and speaking events.

So I get asked about essential oils and womens issues all the time as a matter of fact a few years back I had a book called THE TOP 7 HEALTH QUESTIONS WOMEN ASK ABOUT but is was all about essential oils. Its that book I always get asked about. But I pulled it for a rewrite and never revisited it.

Until today.

This is a culmination of years of medical experience, checking thousands of lab levels on women who are using essential oils for their health concerns, and my own research and observations.

But I am going to keep this simple and with no fluff here it is. This is what works and those of you who follow me (you 30,000+ Facebook fans) and all my other book fans) know inherently that I know of which I speak. So, like I said, here it is.

CHAPTER ONE
What Happens in Menopause

A ll women, if they live long enough, will go through menopause.

By definition the word menopause means no menses (period) for six months or a year (according to which definition you use).

And as most of you know I do pituitary research so I think everything starts there.

Menopause can be natural (the average age for natural menopause in the USA is 51 years of age), or traumatic or surgical. Trauma can be to the ovaries, or to the pituitary either will cause ovarian failure. (Ive also seen ovarian failure caused by malnutrition or vitamin deficiencies but thats for another day, time and book.)

In menopause, with your ovaries having failed, you will no longer produce at least five hormones:

1. Progesterone

2. Testosterone

3. Estradiol

4. DHEA

Pregnenolone

But to get to menopause youll usually have to go through peri-menopause. This is where your progesterone levels and production drop. Causing you to hot flash/flush, night sweat, get headaches and suffer from insomnia. Peri-menopause can start years before or months before actual menopause occurs and for most women this is a misery. As a matter of fact for most women this is the worst misery regarding menopause or at least it seems that way.

Also your testosterone level and production drops to almost zero (youll always make some in your fat by converting DHEA so it might not ever go away completely). This will cause muscle wasting, dryness in your eyes, mouth, vagina, loss of libido and many other problems.

Also, your most womanly of hormones, estradiol (the form of estrogen created in your ovaries) drops and eventually just goes away. This causes wrinkled skin, soft bones, vascular inflammation (and eventually heart disease and strokes), hair loss, and rapid aging. Not a good thing.

The last two hormones that are made in your ovaries are DHEA and Pregnenolone both considered master hormones. Many other hormones stem from these and though DHEA is also created in your adrenals this loss from your ovaries will also affect your testosterone levels. Pregnenolone also prevents dementia.

If you get the clear impression that lack of these hormones will cause you to start dying, you are accurate. This is the downhill run. It just gets worse after this.

And women everywhere, who eschew big pharma and prescription options, ask me what they can do to ward this off. Thats what this book is about.

CHAPTER TWO
Why Do You Need Hormone Support or Replacement?

I am a big believer and proponent of the hormonal theory of aging at least until something better comes along. It goes like this without hormones you start to age and die more quickly. It also supports my vampire theory vampires only bite the young and beautiful (preferably) because theyre rich with anti-aging hormones.

There is no medical reason to not have blood super rich with hormones so dont you want to be there?

But hormones do so much more than protect you from aging.

So let me give you some lists as to why you need them. Remember, I wrote a textbook on preventive medicine so these are actually from my Program120 Female Handbook B and some of my lists that are circulating out there so they may look familiar. Please forgive that crossover but the benefits of these hormones are what they are and the literature has not changed.
