Real Fibromyalgia Rx: summary, description and annotation

NEW for the FIRST time (for women) your guide to healing the constant tight chronic pain of fibromyalgia in your back and hips while finding out how to regain your health, regain your body, regain your proper weight, and get relief.

Have you been give the DREADED F-word diagnosis (that most women HATE to hear)? Wondering why you? Why the fibromyalgia? Why the pain? Why the insomnia? Why the fatigue? If you seem to have the trials of Job in the Old Testament, and just hate each day, and feel like you can't continue on another then this book is for you. In Real Fibromyalgia Rx, Dr. Purser explains how the pituitary is the root cause for those suffering from fibromyalgia, chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, and even (YES!) interstitial cystitis. Are you wondering how your joints hurt so bad? Why your muscles up between your shoulder blades ache and seem so tense? Why you have sometimes HORRBILE insomnia and yet are exhausted all the time? Wondering why the gut and digestive problems torture you? Why do you suffer from the weird heart palpitations (what other doctor mentions THAT too?)? Why the bladder problems (SEVERE in ICS some of you know I'm talking to YOU)? Why the muscle wasting? On and on and on...it never seems to end. For women OR men (yes, they can get all of this too), Dr. Purser, who's done pituitary endocrinology research for a number of years explains (along with the medical literature) HOW you don't have the bad luck of having a bunch of disparate distinct problems but instead you have just one. This is a guide to understanding what the research says about the pituitary, your hormones, menopause, pain, and proper careful hormone replacement therapy. This is a perfect tool to help you find a doctor near you who knows and to take charge of your body and start feeling healthy, happy, and pain-free again! Buy one quick and GET HEALING!!!

Do wonder why you suffer from these? And what follows make sense?

Muscle wasting/No Libido/Fatigue could these all be of unknown cause or from low testosterone?Hot Flashes/Night Sweats/Migraines/Osteoporosis all from unknown causes or low progesterone?Cold hands and feet/Exhaustion/Weight Gain/Hair Loss all a magic curse or low thyroid? Bad Osteoporosis/Coronary Artery Disease/Wrinkles again a mystery or from low estrogen? Horrible Insomnia/Chronic Fatigue/Muscles that won't heal from a virus or from somatropin deficiency? See The Evidence

That This is Really ALL From Undiagnosed Pituitary Dysfunction/Damage/Loss!!! Hundreds of articles referenced and detailed no stone left unturned. See why you suffer the way you do, and how to unwind it all! See and understand for the FIRS Time why your ovaries have failed prematurely and what that REALLY means! Find Out Why WHEN You Hit Menopause Things Got REALLY BAD!!! (The DREADED DOUBLE WHAMMY)

Acknowledgments

This book could not have been written without a lot of good people whove suffered, putting their faith in me as a physician. None of this could have been accomplished without the leadership and incredible knowledge of Nabil Gemayel, MD, probably the best and nicest pituitary endocrinologist in the United States. Hes also a cardiologist. Many patients now live fuller and more normal lives because of him. The work of Troy Lund, MD and that of the beautiful and kind LeAnne Swenson, MD of the Salt Lake Clinic were both key to helping this work come together God bless them both. Id like to give a big thanks to Dr. Steven Freestone (MD Pathologist) of the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah. He was always available to answer even the most ridiculous questions regarding lab techniques and levels. Thanks to Kimball Crofts, MD, a kind and talented plastic surgeon, for allowing some of this work to move forward in his beautiful office space. Michael Jensen, MD, started all this years ago. He is one of the kindest physicians I know. Richard Rosenthal, MD, of the Nexus Pain Clinic tolerated our endless discussions of the chicken or the egg theory on pain. And I cannot forget Neal Rouzier, MD., of Clinics of the Palm Deserts in Palm Springs. He is a hormone doctor who has taught so many physicians, and is years ahead of everyone else. Thank you Neal this work is for you too.

Also, thanks to the patients and the staff of Aesthetica Preventive Medicine Institute LLC, where a lot of this work was done and ideas proved especially Denise, Brenna and Caroline you rock!

Thank you toy the awesome physicians and staff of the Clinica Medica Familiar in Santa Ana, California for their long-suffering assistance in our research there. We would randomly appear to take over their exam rooms, and they never complained. They are humble and kind practitioners of the healing arts.

I owe thanks to two key pharmacies. First, thanks to MedQuest Pharmacy in Utah (www.mqrx.com). They have been a leader in compounding for decades. They make some of the best hormone products on the planet. Also, thanks to Nayan Patel PhD and his team at Central Drug in La Habra, California. This is the most excellent group of compounding and pharmaceutical geniuses I know. Nayan is a lecturer at the University of Southern California a skill in which he excels. Dr. G is a very talented educator at USC as well. The work could not have moved forward without their long hours of dedicated service.

There are many people who allowed this work to move forward, too many to list. Thanks to you all.

Foreword

After a long day seeing patients and doing testing, I was sitting with Dr. G in a hamburger joint in downtown Santa Ana, California. I asked him what he thought of fibromyalgia. Without a pause he replied, Its pituitary damage thats undiagnosed its a growth hormone deficiency.

I felt shocked by his answer. I looked at him and asked, Really?

Yes, absolutely he said and went back to his fries.

I took his answer seriously. This brilliant man (Dr G) had trained at Harvard in pituitary endocrinology, had worked at the NIH and Walter Reed for couple of decades, and then had been named assistant to the US Surgeon General. He was at USC only after hed completed a cardiology fellowship. Hes a cardiologist and a pituitary endocrinologist. He was one of the pre-eminent physicians on the west coast Id better take it seriously.

Thats how this book began, in a hamburger joint in Santa Ana, California.

This book is not earth-shattering most of my information I obtained from the excellent modern medical literature that already exists, much like in my Program120 book on proactive preventive medicine. I hope that what I have written here and what I have presented in my educational endeavors is solid data, backed by research and by my own clinical experience. Fibromyalgia syndrome (called a syndrome because no one seems to know the cause) is a mysterious disease process to most caregivers and to nearly all patients it should not be. I hope to shed light on this problem. I want to clarify the diagnostic issues involved, and indicate proper therapy that can be applied when a patient is accurately diagnosed. This is root cause medicine (like I teach in my Program120 lectures and textbook) and is exacting in its scope. Fibromyalgia cannot be cured, but with careful skill and caring, the symptoms can be mostly resolved. Patients can go forward and live a nearly normal life.

My approach is not new hypothalamic-pituitary-axis (HPA) problems and issues have been scrutinized as an etiology for fibromyalgia, but I try to connect those dots with a little different eye and experience. Dont think Im being criticalthere are many really good, kind, caring professionals trying to do the right thing. The root causes of pituitary dysfunction or damage are multi-factorial, which adds to the immense confusion I see in this area. Ill try to explain all of those causes. This will lead to clarification in the diagnosis and treatment of this syndrome.

In the following text Ill make my case.

D iscovering the Meaning of Real Fibromyalgia: Problems with Big Medicine and Big Pharmaceutical Companies

Much of what physicians learn on the job and at so-called educational conferences comes from pharmaceutical companies. Dont get me wrong I believe pharmaceutical companies have improved the modern world with incredible medications, but it is a lazy error by physicians to depend on self-serving pharmaceutical companies to be the sole source of their ongoing education. I remind doctors of the phrase caveat emptor buyer beware. Or in this case, patient and physician beware. Its our responsibility to do our homework, not to rely on pharmaceutical representatives. Its the doctors job to know whats going on. They shouldnt be too busy to figure it out, I believe that handing over our education to drug manufacturing entities, or to hospital chains who benefit from unnecessary surgical interventions, or even to insurance companies that benefit from the belief that no therapies work for these patients, undermines appropriate care of many kinds of patients, especially those with the fibromyalgia syndrome.
