To all women, with my love, honor, and admiration.
May we step into our hearts and our courage with fierce devotion,
May we own our voices and our gifts with divine respect,
May we heal ourselves and support one another with gentle compassion,
May we find our inner peace and know our deepest True Selves,
Then, surely, we can save humanity and this precious place,
Mother Earth, we call Home.

Life presents us with repeated opportunities to face what we fear, what we need to become conscious of, or what we need to master.

THE CHALLENGES OF ANXIETY
Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears.
Les Brown
W elcome amazing women, I am so glad you are here. We have all traveled far in our lives to get here. Its time for healing now. I truly know how devastating and challenging anxiety can be. I wrote this book especially for us, women with anxiety, who have struggled to find the way to get rid of it once and for all. We all deserve to live free of fear and anxiety running our lives. In the stress of having anxiety, we can get too focused on our problems, fears, and worries, and lose sight of how life could be different. If you have tried methods that have helped your anxiety for a while but didnt last, you are in the right place.
There are millions of women with anxiety(1). Living in this culture that is fast-paced, high stress, and focused on perfection, power, and control is enough to bring most of us anxiety. Add on feminine oppression and/or childhood trauma, and that pretty much covers the rest of us. Women are feeling fearful and isolated, believing its only happening to themselves. This is tragic and not OK. We are in this together, and need to know we matter and can get help. In this day and age, why should people have to suffer when there are so many non-medical methods that actually can help? We just havent heard about them, and its hard to know what is good information. This is why I wrote this book.
Just so you know, its not our fault we are suffering. We all do the best we can with what we know. Making a change once we have the correct information about our anxiety then becomes our choice. We each get to decide whether we are sick enough of anxiety to make the necessary changes. A lot of fears can show up just by thinking about change, cant they? Thats completely normal. We may start to wonder, Is this worth it, trying to solve my anxiety again? We could go back to believing that this is just the crappy way life is and it will never be any different. In other words, just keep suffering. That is a choice, even if it is a horrible one.
It is easy to stay in the familiar places were stuck in, even if we know they are bad for us. We cant help it. We all have these lower, reptilian parts of our brains that prefer to just keep life the same, even if were miserable. They were quite helpful back in the stone ages, when we needed to stay safe finding food and not get eaten by tigers. They know how we can stay safe as a baseline. The problem is that being safe does not mean happy or thriving. This is like life with anxiety: Its not very comfortable at all and actually very painful. However, the lower brain is satisfied with its target goal of just keeping you alive. It says anxiety is no big deal, as long as you are alive. Meanwhile, you feel exhausted, tense, irritable, lonely, sick of it, stressed, worried constantly, sleep-deprived, unhappy.
