About the Author

Anne deMille Floods lifelong fascination with drawing was sparked by the gift - photo 4

Anne deMille Flood's lifelong fascination with drawing was sparked by the gift of a set of colored pencils in 1994. Since that time she has worked passionately with this versatile medium and has developed her love of colored pencil into a thriving pet portraiture business.

Anne resides in Washington state with her family and shares her knowledge of pet portraiture in workshops throughout the Pacific Northwest. This book is the culmination of years of experience combined with unique teaching skills and a truly deep love of the medium of colored pencil.

Her work has led down many paths, but one of her favorites is using her pet portrait skills to render wild animals. View more of Anne's work by visiting her web site at www.annedemilleflood.com.

My heartfelt thanks.

Clouded Leopard
I was delighted to be allowed to take some great close-up photos of this endangered species at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma, Washington. I created this portrait of Raja from those shots. Now this image appears on greeting cards and prints that are sold in the gift shop and helps to raise funds for research. What a great way to put my art to good use!
