Introduction

O ver the last year , Ive fallen more and more in love with the concept of creating my own unique Cricut designs. Being able to turn my ideas into reality with the Cricut Design Space software makes me smile every time I hold one of my finished projects. More happiness arises when I gift them to loved ones and I get to see the excitement on their face. Im sure its the same for you and we can all agree that Cricut designs can be truly magical.

This book was inspired by my niece, Olivia, to whom I gifted a folding card during each season of the year. Still, imagine how surprised I was when she showed me, during last Christmas, that she had collected all the gifts I previously gave her. I instantly overjoyed. This experience motivated me to come up with some new designs and served as inspiration for this book. The designs presented in this book are therefore split into four categories, the four seasons of the year.

There are, however, a few things I want to mention before we delve deep into the actual designs. The following projects will contain the exact step by step instructions on how to make them in a systemic and structured way. However, I dont consider them appropriate for complete beginners since they use some advanced methods. That is why I highly recommend that you master the basics before trying these designs. You also dont have to replicate these exact designs if you dont want to. They should mainly serve as practice and inspiration. We all know that art is subjective so I kindly ask you to keep that in mind when you are going over the designs. Each design presented in this book is among my personal favorites, however, we all have unique styles and what might look good to someone might not be that appealing to someone else. You can happily add your own spin to these designs and improve them in any way you see fit. My main goal with this book is that you get inspired, learn a few new designing techniques and end up using the book with a smile on your face.

The structure of this book will be similar to the one in my previous books. At the beginning of each design, you will see the finished artwork. Each creation process will contain step-by-step instructions in order to make the learning experience as easy as possible.

Now, regarding my previous books, I took your feedback very seriously and tried to the best of my abilities to improve this version so that youll have the best experience possible. Here is a summary of the points I tackled:

1. One issue was the smallish image size of the print versions. Therefore, the print size for this book was increased to 8.5 x 11. This will ensure that the images are large enough and will allow you to see more details.

1. Another issue was the difficulty to follow along and see which layer was used during each step. To fix that Ive added the yellow rectangle marker. This marker will always appear on the image to indicate which layer is active at each step. Here is an example:

N ow, keep in mind that I didnt want to make it too ostentatious in order to avoid making the images too overwhelming. However, I believe this marker is visible enough so you can find it quickly. So always keep out an eye for the yellow rectangle when moving from one step to another:

1. Unfortunately, there is one issue I cannot change and that refers to the updates of the Cricut Design Space software. There might be a chance that the software goes through various updates and the interface might, therefore, change slightly. Now, I agree that these changes can sometimes be frustrating and might require some getting used to. However, I believe that once you master the concept of designing with this amazing software you will be able to find yourself in a creative flow no matter what small changes might be implemented over time. This is what Im trying to pass on with my books, the true concept, and joy of designing with Cricut Design Space.

A s I mentioned before , changes to the Cricut Design Space software might be implemented from time to time. That is why Ive added this small chapter before the actual designs. At the time of writing this book, there have been a few changes to Cricut Design Space which I want to present. This is mainly because my first two books showcase the previous version of this software and the new features might, therefore, be new to some users.
