Im blown away by A CTION A RT -it is so fabulous! Kohls art books are amazing and inspiring, and this one with Zaborowski makes me want to get up and move and make some active art! I particularly love the pounding paint. I almost popped out of my chair and went to find my mallet! I cant imagine how much fun this would be for kids! Move over, Jackson Pollock-A CTION A RT is here!

There is so much joyful energy in A CTION A RT ! This book bursts with color, fun, and inspiration for young artists. I love how out-of-the-ordinary art materials are included, such as car tires, power drills, and tricycles, and yet every activity is something anyone could try in their home or classroom. A CTION A RT will have children of all ages exploring creativity with big smiles to match!

Any art book from MaryAnn Kohl is a fantastic source of inspiration, and A CTION A RT with Barbara Zaborowski is no exception. My two kids (ages 2 & 5) love getting their wiggles out while creating art together with the action-packed activities in A CTION A RT and yours will too!

MaryAnn F. Kohls books have inspired me since my early days of parenting, and this newest book with Barbara Zaborowski is full of fresh ideas that little movers and shakers will adore. Why have I never thought to make a Chalk Rake or set up a Cotton Ball Toss? Brilliant! The activities in A CTION A RT encourage children to jump, wiggle, toss, and stretch all in the name of art.

Wow! Who would ever have thought to combine art for kids with physical movement? Only MaryAnn F. Kohl of Bright Ring Publishing with co-author and preschool teacher Barbara Zaborowski! They know kids love to move and create in A CTION A RT ! Children of all ages are free to actively explore and express their inner creativity while wiggling, tossing, riding, smooshing, and scooting. Ive never seen art for children in such a free fun style. The kids will be busy bouncing with joy as they create true art!

Bubble Wrap Boots! I love all the senses used when creating with squishing paint, hearing popping bubbles, and looking at unique painting patterns. A CTION A RT allows kids to jump into active art using everyday materials and some unusual ones too. I cant wait to use this in my classroom!

If you are an early childhood teacher concerned about development in all domains, A CTION A RT is the art book for you! Not only will you find ways to engage children in meaningful, fun, and sometimes downright thrilling creative art activities, youll have no trouble identifying the myriad ways children are learning. All of the activities can result in powerful successes for children from exploration of media in new ways! As for me, S PARKLE S PRAY F OAM is calling! Got to go!

MaryAnn F. Kohl and Barbara Zaborowski always say, Try it! in their creative guide to active open-ended art activities. Children can smack, tap, spin, blow, smoosh, and more! When children manipulate materials and cause changes, they learn about material properties and their own abilities. Action icons guide us in choosing activities that meet childrens need for self-direction, all within the available time to set up and cleanup. Id like to see every child experience Pounding Paint where a tool for pounding is in an unlikely pairing with paint. Dont miss the extensions, More Ideas to Explore, as you follow childrens interests in investigating materials and testing their own abilities. I like how children and their adults can return to a piece of artwork and continue developing it with additional materials as they reflect on the action and materials that created it.

Having enjoyed many of MaryAnns books with my children, I find A CTION A RT is another engaging book that will get your children moving in their own art creations! Full of lively activities and ideas, this is a valuable resource for anyone bringing art to young children. Children will love the sound of snapping their own paint in the Snap Painting activity. Your children will be captivated with the wide variety of projects in this book!
