INTRODUCTION
CRYSTAL MAGIC

W elcome to the school of crystals, young witches. In this book we are going to discover exciting and beautiful additions to your magickal lifecrystals! These are often small polished stones of every color and kind. Each has a magickal power and meaning, and they will protect you against negativity of all kinds. You can carry crystals in your purse, in your pocket, or in a tiny bag you hang around your neck or hide inside your clothes. There is a crystal for everything you could possibly imagine, including healing.

You can put crystals around your bed to keep away spooks and bad dreams, or use them as lucky charms and in magick spells. Pick crystals from a bag for telling the future. Collect, hold, and keep crystals because they are beautiful and filled with the power of the earth. They are fairy jewels that can open all kinds of doors to magick and special wishes. You can buy crystal angels, animals, statues, wands, and even crystal skulls that are very protective.

If you are on vacation near the ocean or in a tourist resort, gift stores often sell local stones that will hold memories of your great time there as well as the special power of the place they came from.

You can build your crystal collection through months and years, and you can ask for special crystals for birthdays and holidays. In time, youll wonder how you ever managed without your crystals.

YOUR CRYSTAL JOURNAL

Keep notes online, on your computer, or in a notebook. Take photos or make illustrations of your crystals and keep notes about them as you get to know them better. You can record the crystal readings you do and keep all information about your zodiac birthstones and any special crystal spells you create. This will be your record of all of your magickal work; it will be a reference you can turn to as your magickal experience grows.

CHAPTER 1
MAKING YOUR CRYSTAL ALTAR

Y ou can use your crystals absolutely anywhere; however, it will become useful to have a special place in your bedroom where you can store and work with your crystals. Use any small table or flat surface in your bedroom as your crystal altar. If you share an apartment, you may be able to team up with friends to create an altar you can use together.

Over time, your altar will become a special space where you can light a candle or some incense, hold your favorite crystal, and allow wishes and dreams to come and go. You dont need all the things listed in this book at first, but a few crystals with a candle and incense will make your altar instantly beautifuland you can add to it later, because collecting crystals can become a lifetime passion.

YOU WILL NEED:

A table or flat surface, covered with a scarf or cloth in your favorite color. You can change this as your mood alters or when you need special powers in your life. You will learn about the magickal meanings of colors in .

A white candle in the center.

Any floral incense stick to the right of the candle and a bowl of water to the left of the candle.

In the center in front of the candle, place a small dish to hold the crystals or crystal jewelry you will charge with magickal power. Afterward, you can carry these with you or wear them.

Arrange any special crystals you have, such as a crystal angel, animal, or bird. You may also choose a small crystal ball that will give you messages from the spirits. A pendulum, a pointed crystal on a chain, and any larger crystals you collect will come in handy in the future.

YOUR MAGICKAL TREASURE BOX

You will want to keep a box just for your magickal items. In your box, collect candles in different colors, incense in lots of floral fragrances, and small velvet or fabric drawstring bags or purses in different colors. These bags should be a variety of sizes, including tiny ones to carry a single crystal as a charm and ones large enough to contain your fifteen basic crystals described in the next chapter. Over time you can add bowls of small crystals for making crystal layouts. You can pop a few of these colored crystals in a bag to carry their power with you.

You may want a second special box for your crystal jewelry and your birth sign or zodiac stones.

MAKING YOUR CRYSTAL ALTAR MAGICKAL

The first time you use your crystal altar and whenever you add a new crystal, you will want to add power and protection. In the next chapter, you will learn more ways to keep all your crystals powerful and clear of negative energies.

Light your candle and incense.

Move the palms of your hands a few inches above and all around the outside of your altar (not too near the candle or lighted incense). Let your writing hand make clockwise circles and your other hand counterclockwise circles at the same time for a minute or two.

As you do this, say softly and continuously, I ask the blessings and protection of the spirits of my crystals. May my crystals always be used to bring happiness and healing to myself and others.

Wave incense smoke all around your altar. Return the incense stick to its holder. Leave the candle and incense to burn.

CRYSTALS AS LUCK BRINGERS

You may already have a lucky crystal ring or pendant of your birthstone (see for a full list). When you wear your lucky birthday charm, things seem to go well, so you feel good and good luck comes your way. But you can fill any crystal with power and good fortune, and that will bring good luck. Every time your crystal attracts good luck, it draws to it extra power like a magnet and gets stronger and stronger.
