Minimize to Maximize Your Life by Vanessa
Minimalist living sounds almost like something unreal and exotic in a world where money and earthly possessions are the only things that matter, but once you get to know and understand everything about it youll see that its a lifestyle thats not so hard to adapt to, while it can be quite fun at the same time. How so? Because the less you own the more free time youll have for yourself, which you can use for other purposes; like reading a book, watching a movie, or even cooking a dinner for your loved ones.
As I point out in this book "when it comes to adopting a minimalist lifestyle our goal is to design a life in which the simplest and most elemental things are used to their maximum good". Is that easy? If you believe it is you will make it so, since, as almost everyone says, everything is in your head. What you cannot find in your head though may be the way to achieve your goals, and thats exactly when my book comes in. This guide will help you see what you need and what you dont and give you a hand in making your life much simpler and thus more fulfilling.

Introduction: Developing a Minimalist Mindset
When the topic of minimalism comes up in conversation there is always a brief moment of confusion followed by an onslaught of misconceptions. Before we go much further lets define our terms. Minimalism is a term taken from the disciplines of music and art to describe a piece that uses only simple elements and avoids embellishment. When it comes to adopting a minimalist lifestyle, our goal is to design a life in which the simplest and most elemental things are used to their maximum good. You dont have to become a miser to be a minimalist. However, frugality may be a part of the transition from having too much to just enough. You can adopt a minimalist mindset in any income bracket. We dont get by with less because we cant afford more; we simply choose less because its better for our souls.
To put it simply a minimalist is one who understands the value of a thing beyond its price and knows that often times less really is more. In this book well focus mostly on simplifying your wardrobe and thus your life. However, I think its important to spend a little time explaining the type of mental space youll need to get into if youre going to be successful living with less. Otherwise, this becomes a vow of poverty or enrollment into a nunnery and its neither of those things. In our overly materialistic world with its many possessions, you have to find a way to become content with the bare necessities. To make the leap into simplicity youll undergo a major paradigm shift. Youll go from needing a purse and shoes for every outfit to needing only one pair of shoes, one purse, and a handful of outfits.
