Tapping into the current trend of a new view of genetics exemplified in books like The Biology of Belief, Margaret Ruby, herself a healer, shows how this research is becoming increasingly mainstream. In The DNA of Healing, Margaret Ruby teaches how to neutralize the negative patterns handed down through our family lineage and reprogram the DNA with positive patterns that manifest health, wellness, and abundance.

Revolutionary scientific research is proving that our emotions and thoughts can impact our health and shape the course of our lives. But if a positive attitude is all we need to live a healthier and happier life, why dont more people change more quickly? The answers lie deep in our DNA. Along with the color of our eyes and the shape of our nose, we have inherited the emotional patterns and beliefs of our ancestors. Like long-lost family secrets, these deeply embedded patterns influence our health, wealth, and relationships in ways were not even aware of.

Margaret Ruby, a pioneer and educator in the field of healing and the founder of PossibilitiesDNA, has developed a system for isolating and reversing inherited traumas and negative patterns. The DNA of Healing reveals her breakthrough five-step process that has helped people around the world neutralize the unconscious programming they have inherited and reset their genetic codes for total wellness and abundance.

Blending the art of healing with cutting-edge research, Margaret Ruby shows how to work with your DNA on an energetic level, in effect rebooting it to its original blueprint. This extraordinary system allows you to reprogram your DNA with positive patternsa concept that has tremendous ramifications for more than just your health. The DNA of Healing also shows how you can remove your self-limiting thought patterns about relationships and money, helping you get the abundant life youve always wanted.

Preface
We Can Change the Stories Written in Our Genes

Each cell of your body contains a mastermind within its nucleus: DNA, the blueprint of life. The code within this long threadlike molecule contains the essential information that regulates the cell's activities and that transfers hereditary traits from one generation to the next.

In the spring of 2003, just 50 years after the discovery of the DNA's double helix structure, scientists finished mapping the sequence of human DNA. They are now racing to extract the details from all the genetic information in our chromosomes. Just as significant, but much less known, is groundbreaking research indicating that our DNA is not a fixed code and that our genes can be affected and even altered by our emotions and experiences.

As a pioneer and educator in the field of healing and how our beliefs and emotions affect our health and our DNA, I too have learned that our genes determine much more than whether we inherit our mother's curls or our father's eyes. The way we react to others, the way we communicate, the way we think and express our emotions, even the pattern of our relationships, health, and finances, are all shaped by our genes.

Often these patterns can be traced back to a source we don't typically associate with hereditythe feelings and beliefs of our ancestors what I call their stories. These are locked deep in the memory of our DNA, influencing us in ways we aren't even aware of. In other words, along with our hair color and the shape of our nose, an emotional history has been handed down to us through our family lineage.

I like to describe our DNA as a giant storybook. Of the 46 chapters (scientifically referred to as chromosomes) in our personal book of life, 22 chapters were handed down through our mother's lineage and 22 chapters were handed down through our father's lineage. Two additional chapters tell us about our connection with God, or the universal life source. Each chapter is made up of tens of thousands of stories what scientists call our genes.

The genetic memories and belief systems that make up the storybook of our DNA can support us in many ways, but they are also responsible for passing on negative patterns that keep us from living the life we want. Some stories take effect immediatelywhen, for example, someone is born deaf or with diabetes. Other stories lie dormant and unfold only when triggered by certain events or experiences, bringing sudden and sometimes unwelcome changes into our lives. Time and time again, I have seen how the stories recorded in our DNA determine the course of our relationships, our health, and our wealth. In essence, what happens to you on your life journey is a result of what is written in the life code of your DNA.

What I have discoveredand what this book is aboutis that we can change our code. It is not set in stone. We have the power to change the stories written in our genes and therefore the power to change our lives.

This book shares easy-to-use, self-healing techniques that work at energetic, emotional, and vibrational levels to help you release the limiting beliefs encoded in your DNA. These processes have helped thousands of people find relief from a wide range of issues, from emotional stress and troubled relationships to allergies and life-threatening illnesses. The DNA of Healing reveals the discoveries, research, and real-life experiences that have led to my present work and it describes five basic steps to resetting your genetic code for total wellness and abundance.

We are living in a time of great transformation. Many of us are shifting from believing that we are victims into awareness that our belief systems create our reality and that we are in charge of our own transformations, including our own healing. In this book, you will learn how to heal yourselfhow to quickly neutralize negative programs handed down through your family lineage and how to activate your positive patterns so that you can manifest the wellness that is meant for you.

You have a force living within you that can take you beyond your present beliefs. It is the power to heal. I champion that force within you and welcome you to the next step on your healing journey.

NOTE: When I use the word heal in this book, I mean it in a spiritual sense, not a medical sense, even if I do not state so explicitly at every usage. The words heal and whole come from the same Old English root, hPicture 2. To be healed spiritually with respect to an issue is to become whole with respect to that issue. For example, healing may involve a cure, but it may also involve being at peace with the fact that there is no cure. If you have a medical condition, please seek the advice of a licensed health practitioner. In no case should any of the statements in this book contribute to the delay or omission of appropriate medical treatment.
