About the Editors
Shunpei Yamazaki received his Ph.D., ME, BE, and honorary degrees from Doshisha University, Japan, in 1971, 1967, 1965, and 2011, respectively, and is the founder and president of Semiconductor Energy Laboratory Co., Ltd. He invented a basic device structure of nonvolatile memory known as flash memory in 1970 during his Ph.D. program. Yamazaki is a distinguished foreign member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and a founder of Kato & Yamazaki Educational Foundation. Yamazaki has published or copublished over 400 papers and conference presentations and is the inventor or coinventor of over 6314 patents (Guinness World Record in 2011).
