Introduction
Trying to lose weight? Then you will absolutely love the wheat belly diet. The reason it is so effective is because it takes weight loss to a deeper level. By eliminating wheat, you get rid of the barrier that has been holding you back for so long.
If you have tried other diets, but without much in the way of success, this will be different. If that sounds like a pretty bold claim to be making, you do not have to look far to read all the success stories. That being said, we have to reveal both the good and the bad. The hardest and least enjoyable part of this diet is getting through the withdrawal stage. It can get pretty rough, but know right now that it is only temporary. Remember, you are getting rid of wheat, an ingredient that has been in your meals for years.
It only makes sense that your body would need to adjust. But if you follow through with the diet, the results will blow your mind. On the topic of your mind, your brain will try to protect you when you start this diet. It does not want you to feel pain, even if that means throwing away the gain. It would prefer to keep your life the same, which in reality, is just lame. Get your head in the game and things will never be the same.
Hold onto that thought when wheat enters your thoughts and dreams. Yes, it has been known to happen, but it is all part of the process. Before you know it, you will be wheat free and feeling better than ever. For the first several weeks, however, you might feel like you are running low on energy. If so, that is completely normal, and to be expected with the wheat belly diet. This diet is going to cut out the carbs and sugars, as well as some of the popular amino acids.
Without these acids, you might find that you become depressed, nauseous, and lightheaded. Painful headaches, and even an increase in joint pain for those suffering with arthritis is possible. If all of this sounds scary, you are looking at it the wrong way. If anything, it should empower you. The very fact that the withdrawal symptoms are this intense proves a point: Wheat has taken over your life, and your health for too long. If you failed to feel anything on this diet, you would question if it is really making a difference.
Perhaps this is why so many people give up on their diets, but with the wheat belly diet, there will be no question. It might feel like an eternity at the time, but it is temporary. Stay hydrated, add a bit of salt to your diet, and consider taking a probiotic. Magnesium, omega-3, and iodine are great supplements that work well with this diet. Wheat is harmful, and by eliminating it from your diet, the weight will come off a lot faster. It will lower your cholesterol, as well as stabilize your blood sugar.
This is important when you are trying to lose weight. By cutting out wheat, you will also reduce your risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis. This is huge because health issues can slow down your weight loss goals. If you are dealing with health problems, losing weight can be difficult to impossible. You also need to realize that the wheat belly diet is long-term. If you stick to the diet, it can be a permanent solution that will last a lifetime.
This is not one of those diets where you stop after achieving the desired results. It is so much more than that. When you begin the diet, we suggest cutting your wheat consumption by 50% during the first week. Then, during the second week, you can cut it out completely. This will help to alleviate the withdrawal symptoms, and prevent a bigger shock to your system. During the second week, it will get a bit harder.
You will really start to feel the withdrawal, but it is only temporary. Make sure you start things off on the right foot. Eat healthy by only cooking your foods in healthy oils. Whatever you eat for breakfast, which is approved by the diet, eat it for dinner instead. Switching up your meals for breakfast and dinner can be very effective.

Youll need some of the from the recipe. Slice the bread to " thick. You will find that the end result is a bit heavier than traditional French toast made from wheat-based bread, as with many wheat-free dishes, but this variation is wonderfully simple and pleasurable with none of the unhealthy consequences of the real thing. Serve with unsweetened Greek yogurt or whipped cream and blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries; fruit butters such as apricot or pumpkin butters; or sugar-free maple syrup, preferably sucralose-based and not sorbitol-based to avoid the blood sugarincreasing effects of sorbitol, not to mention the awful gas and cramps typically caused by some sugar alcohols. Ingredients 1 large egg cup coconut milk, almond milk, or milk 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons butter or coconut oil 6 slices Directions Whisk the egg in a shallow bowl. - Wheat-Free Pancakes
PREP TIME: 15 MINUTES | TOTAL TIME: 30 MINUTES Makes 14 pancakes (4" diameter) Of all the wheat-free, healthy recipes Ive tried, this is my familys favorite. Youll find these almond mealbased pancakes to be a very close approximation of the flour-based variety.
They are wonderfully filling; few people can eat more than 3 or 4 medium-size pancakes. Id forgotten how much I missed pancakes until I sat down one Sunday morning to a stack, butter between the layers, topped with (sugar-free) maple syrupbut followed by none of the fogginess, sleepiness, and abdominal distress that always followed wheat flour pancakes. Top pancakes with sugar-free maple syrups, but avoid the kind that contains sorbitol, since this sugar alcohol increases blood sugar and usually causes horrendous gas and diarrhea. Sucralose-based maple syrups are made by Walden Farms and DaVinci. Torani and DaVinci also make berry-flavored sucralose-based syrups that are great for drizzling on Wheat-Free Pancakes. If you are averse to sucralose, try blueberries or other berries with whipped cream, a dollop of Greek yogurt, or some fruit butters (for example, apricot, apple, cranberry, pumpkinjust watch the sugar!).
