Bake, uncovered, at 325 degrees until eggs are set, about 30 to 35 minutes. Cut into squares. Hanna Donner Grandview, MO My mother taught me this recipe when I was youngI still love it! 2 eggs, beaten 2 T. milk 1/2 c. sugar 1 t. cinnamon 1 t. vanilla extract 1 T. butter, divided 4 slices honey wheat bread Garnish: creamy peanut butter, maple syrup, powdered sugar In a shallow dish, beat eggs with milk, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla; set aside.
Melt half of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Dip 2 bread slices in egg mixture, coating well on both sides; add to skillet. Cook for about 2 minutes, until golden; turn and cook other side. Repeat with remaining butter and bread. Serve slices topped with peanut butter and maple syrup; sprinkle with powdered sugar.
