Antisemitism in the Contemporary World
About the Book and Editor
This collection of original essays by renowned scholars deals in a thematic fashion with the ways in which antisemitism is currently expressed. The book addresses the questions of whether there are new forms of antisemitism, whether there has been a resurgence of anti-semitism in the current age, and whether critical attitudes toward Zionism or opposition to the State of Israel and its policies have given new impetus to antisemitism. The contributors also examine the complex relationship between the State of Israel and the Jewish community worldwide.
Michael Curtis is a professor of political science at Rutgers University and was the 1984 Lady Davis Visiting Professor at The Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He organized the conference "Antisemitism in the Con-temporary World," held at Rutgers, November 1983, from which this book grew.
