Foreword
You have in your hands the most comprehensive, life changing, practical tool you may ever read in your life. I dont write this lightly I have probably read just about everything out there, in my own quest to let go of old patterns, limiting beliefs and feelings and behaviors that belong in the past. I have always been an impatient person I want things done yesterday, most because there is so much more I can do tomorrow! When I struck the tool Sally teaches you in this book, I knew the planets had aligned to give me a tool that acted quickly, at deep unconscious levels, and lasted over time (permanently in most cases). I benefitted, my clients changed radically, and I started to research this tool at a clinical trial level in 2008 (see website - http://works.bepress.com/peta_stapleton/ ). The results have been outstanding and long lasting in all our clinical trials for weight/food issues, depression, academic fears and worries, anxiety, chronic pain and more.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) or Tapping as it is commonly known, is a revolutionary self help technique which combines eastern philosophies with modern day cognitive psychology. The act of tapping with two fingers on acupressure points on the body, while acknowledging your current state (feeling, belief, behaviour, even pain) might seem a little strange to some, but the individual elements have been working for decades. Acupuncture has thousands of studies behind it now, and cognitive therapies have decades. This is first time they have been blended into one approach a new wave or frontier for clients. The good news is there are no acupuncture needles in sight!
Sally Thibault has become an amazing and very close friend in her tapping journey you will read and laugh about how we met in the first chapter. She is one of the most intuitive, centered, mindful EFT therapists I have had the pleasure to have in my life. Whenever I run my own courses, it is Sally I invite to join us my peer. This book Sally has put together, which outlines her own journey, but more importantly gives you the reader the gift of EFT, is truly remarkable.
Sally has been able to drill down and outline the most common and often overlooked core issues that happen for people and then offer tapping scripts which are the actual words to say, in order to change. When people first come to tapping, they sometimes worry that they might not be saying the right words or dont know where to start. This book changes that as Sally has already outlined the tapping statements, the reminder phrases, and the plan you need to change any uncomfortable state you desire. As I said earlier, I have not come across such a comprehensive tapping guide to date and I have read them all. This book will literally change your life.
The research about EFT has been growing for a decade now. We understand it to profoundly and quickly affect the part of the brain which sends out the stress response which is why you can be in state of complete overwhelm, anger, distress, fear (and so on) and after tapping for just a few minutes, feel considerably calmer. This is a surprise to many people as we often believe therapy or any intervention should take a long time (especially if we have had our problem for a long time as well).
Granted, we all have different internal senses of time, and some of us want things to take a little longer, and the brilliance of tapping is that you can take as long, or as little time as you like.
The new wave of therapies in psychology are beginning to realize that change does not have to take a very long time in fact the brain learns very quickly. Think of a child learning to walk. They might stand and wobble, then fall and crawl. But they stand soon after and attempt a step. Then they might fall. They dont stand, fall over and think that didnt work. I wont try that again. Any parent will know that the skills learnt in early childhood happen very quickly! They walk before you know it!
Our brains are still like that. Neuroplasticity has shown us that we dont have fixed rigid brains after our childhood years, never to learn again. We actually have malleable, flexible and extremely plastic brains which can learn new things, and unlearn old ones, very quickly. You just need the right tools to do it. Tapping is one of those tools.
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have. I was introduced to tapping over 15 years ago now, in my quest for better therapeutic skills for my clients. Along the way I benefitted enormously and changed my own life. Sally has pulled together the most important elements you need to know, and you will truly appreciate the transparency with which she has shared exactly what you need to do.
Enjoy your journey! You were born with this amazing ability to know exactly what you are meant to be doing. If you havent yet worked that out, tapping may be the key to unlock your own potential and Reclaim You!!

Introduction
John Lennon once said Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans. In reflection of my life, I see that has been entirely the outcome.
I have learned over the years that even though I believed I had a plan, my intuition and guidance from a Source far greater than myself has had other plans for me.
In this book, I will share some of that story and what I have come to believe is one of the greatest Energy Psychology techniques I have ever come across. The amazing, now evidence based technique known as Tapping.
Since tapping has entered my life, I have experienced the most profound shifts. In fact I feel as if in my late 50s I am aging backwards. This technique has not only had a profound effect on my life, allowed me to experience more joy, more energy, more freedom and more understanding of myself but I have now been able to share it with hundreds of clients.
