FOREWORD
T his book is written for you and those people in your life when you or they are looking for greater clarity or deeper meaning about who you really are. This is the first release in the Positively Brilliant Self-mastery Series. This book describes a foundational framework to guide you back to your most authentic Self. While simple and easy to understand, this book is powerful, practical, and empowering. There are five planned releases for Positively Brilliant Self-mastery Workshop in a Box in this Self-mastery Series. Each Positively Brilliant Self-mastery Workshop in a Box will include a detailed workbook, audio tracts, a self-assessment, and a Mastery Journal that are collectively designed to support your discovery, integration, and celebration of one of the five major areas of your Positively Brilliant Self. For most of your lifetime, you have been told who you are, what you need to do, and how you are supposed to be.When you have not followed others' guidelines or mandates, you have been told you are doing your life wrong. Or more accurately 'you are not correctly following what others planned for you and your life.'Going through a divorce, the loss of a loved one, a major change of lifestyle, being fired, downsized, or retired, or facing a significant health-related challenge can trigger a desire to embark on a deeply personal exploration. At these times of external crisis or internal breakdown, you may very well find yourself asking, "Who am I? What is my purpose? Why am I alive?"You may even be asking, "Am I worthy? Am I deserving of love? Do I make a difference in this world?" [The answers to these last three questions by the way are Positively Yes!, Yes!, and Yes!]Even when life is not as turbulent, there is an internal quest within each of us to "know ourselves" and "live in alignment with ourselves."I share 21 principles that will guide you to access, re-evaluate, and align with who you really are. Your Positively Brilliant Self is within you right now. Your Positively Brilliant Self-mastery journey awaits...
INTRODUCTION
Self-mastery is Knowing, Living, and Celebrating Your Innate and Positively Brilliant Self
Peter J. Reding
I n 1985, I was living in Tokyo, Japan. Well, in 1985, I was mostly a workaholic without an actual life. At 37 years old, I was incompetent at living my own life. Everyone else had defined, or dictated to me, who I was, what I needed to do, and who I should be to be successful, earn a good living, be promoted, and generally get ahead in this world.I was very successful in getting ahead in this world. My world was international business. I was earning more than $100,000 a year. I was on the corporate management fast track. I could and did travel anywhere in the world I wanted to go... And I had no idea who I really was or what I was really meant to be doing. Twenty-three years later, I know who I really am. Now I am competent to live and celebrate my own life.
