I wrote this book to help turn on a light within the consciousness of humanity, to help all souls who read it awaken to a deeper understanding of their relationship to the Divine. In reading this book, you are engaging with Divine energies that have been sent across time and space to anyone who has chosen to engage this book and all that it offers. You may feel these transmissions now as you are reading, or they may be more subtle, showing up as changes in your life that happen slowly over time once you have engaged with this book fully.

Origins

This book was born out of a series of mystical awakenings that happened to me beginning in January 2007, when I was traveling in Laos, and which continued for many months, into October 2007.

The first of these mystical experiences was a vision I had of Mikao Usui, the late founder of the energetic healing system known as Reiki. I had this vision while in the small, beautiful Laotian city of Luang Prabang, a city that was once the royal capitol of Laos and is still known for the splendor of its many Buddhist temples. In this vision, Usui placed a ball of white light into my heart. He told me that the time had come for Reiki to evolve into a system far beyond what it was, that Reiki would be key to a wave of human awakening that was going to sweep the planet. After this visionary empowerment from Reikis late founder, I felt a deeper connection to all things, a sense of unity with the Divine far beyond anything I had known before. Shortly after this experience, new Reiki symbols for forgiveness and karmic release were revealed to me, symbols that were powerful and effective and which are revealed later in this book. Other mystical occurrences happened at this time in my life as well, things that some may think were hallucinations but which, to me, were the opening of a doorway to the Divine. Complex mathematical equations would at times appear before me, equations that my rational mind could not understand but which made me feel ecstatic when contemplating them. I began sensing eternity, having what Buddhists call a satori experience, wherein the illusions of time and separateness fall away and all that is left is the Divine, never-ending magic that is the root of all that exists.

These satori experiences I was having were not induced by rituals or chemical substances but instead were happening spontaneously, almost daily over a number of weeks. Accompanying these awakening experiences were also teachings of how the Reiki system of energy healing could be both simplified and expanded. The book I was writing at the time, The Reiki Magic Guide to Self-Attunement, was undergoing the last stages of the editorial process before going to print, and it was clearly too late to include these new teachings in that book. So I began compiling these teachings with the sense that they were a new and important aspect of the evolution of Reiki as a system of healing. What I did not fully understand at first was that these new tools were much more than an expansion of Reiki as a system of healing: they were, in fact, new Reiki tools to open the door to spiritual awakening.

Reiki and Spirituality

Reiki is an energy healing system. In this book, Reiki is updated and focused in order to promote a deeper sense of spiritual awakening by stripping away some of the karmic debris that prevents us from seeing our own true Divine nature. The Reiki techniques in this book are mostly new and extremely powerful. Be ready to engage real change in your life if you decide to work with these new Reiki tools.

I offer the following chapters of this book as a path of healing and spiritual awakening. It is not the only path, but it is one that is simple, accessible, and already in your hands. I know that in this age of crisis, one of the solutions is for us as a species to take ownership of our spiritual heritage, of the deep connection with the Divine that exists within all of us.

I believe that by embracing our deepest connection with the Divine, and knowing that we are inseparable from it, we will come to naturally resolve the many problems our planet faces, from ecological holocaust to economic injustice, from mass starvation in some parts of the world to genocide in others. We are at the precipice of either a new beginning or a dreadful demise. My hope is that this book, and others like it, will help tip the balance in favor of the delightful outcome: one of spiritual bliss for the billions of people who live on this planet and an awakening to the majesty of all life itself.
