Why did you pick up this book, and how did you find it?
I dont believe in coincidences. I believe that we are drawn to the things we need whether we know it or not. My guess is that youre not feeling well. That youve been searching for something that will help you take care of those digestive problems or those hay fever symptoms. That youre looking for a natural way to handle your diabetes or high blood pressure. And let me say, youve been drawn to the right place.
This is exactly what happened to me 13 years ago, when, sick and depressed, I happened upon a quote by Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine, that shook me to my core:
All disease begins in the gut.
What did this mean? At the time I had no idea, but I wanted to find out. In fact, it became my mission. And thats when I discovered cultured foodsspecifically kefir, kombucha, and cultured vegetables. I now refer to these three things as the Trilogy, a healing powerhouse of foods.
When I started eating cultured foods, every ailment I had went away. I watched as these foods healed my tiny baby. Then they healed my teenager from irritable bowel syndrome. I was astounded as they worked miracles in my friends and their children. Problems like ulcers, asthma, and digestive issues went away completely. How could something so simple change everybody?
