Whether due to the loss of a job, home, or family member, the pressures of stress, or even feeling the weight of the worlds problems on our shoulders, its easy to get knocked down flat in life. And when that happens, we have two choices: we can give in to our difficult circumstances by embracing our feelings of resentment, disappointment, indecisiveness, and self-pity. Or we can learn how to bounce back stronger, wiser, and happier than before. Drawing on his own painful experience of losing his father as a boy and facing the recent economic upheaval, Frh shares biblical insights and practical strategies for building our resilience so that we can experience loss not as a monster that comes to steal our joy but as a mentor that comes to form our character. He gives readers hope that the painful season they are going through is not the end; it is just the beginning of a brighter season to come.;The keys to resilience are within you. Matthew Lawsons paper plates ; You were made to bounce ; Reframe your loss ; The little-known story of C.W. Baston -- The four resilience blockers. Self-pity: the pain of your past is actually the canvas of your future masterpiece ; Disappointment: a friend named Mike ; Resentment toward God: for Gods sake, where is God? ; Indecisiveness: Sempronius and the forty singing wrestlers -- Your resilience plan. Liquidate some mental real estate: yet why not say what happened? ; Embrace perplexity ; Hope: De Profundis ; Cry out for justice: dig a hole on an airfield before the sun comes up.

They say that experience is the best teacher. And teachers who have experienced what they write about are even better than that. Aaron Frh has delivered life-transforming truths birthed out of overcoming the trials he has encountered. Because of this he is a voice I trust. Practical, insightful, and applicable, the principles he shares will renew your mind-set and transform your life.

Michelle McKinney Hammond , author of Get Over It and On with It

In Bounce , Aaron Frh gives you a clear strategy for coming back from defeat. If you are in the valley of disappointment, this book is a must-read. Aaron will help you discover that returning to the land of the living is not as long of a journey as you might think.

Crane Durham , president and host of Nothing but Truth, a nationally syndicated radio program on American Family Radio Network

Aaron Frh shines a bright light of truth on the crippling effects of loss and discouragement. His insight reminded me of one of my favorite songs that says A saint is just a sinner who fell down and got up.

Jackie Patillo , president and executive director of The Gospel Music Association

This book will help you bounce back from the pain of loss and disappointment. It is full of hope and encouragement, and Aaron will help you navigate through your challenges so you can make a real comeback. If you have experienced pain, loss, and disappointment, then this book is a must-read.

Michael Coleman , president and CEO of Israel Team; cofounder and former CEO of Integrity Media

Who among us doesnt need encouragement? In his most recent book, Bounce , Aaron Frh takes us through the steps of how Gods Word provides the road map in overcoming and thriving during adversity. Aaron shares that the daunting task of facing loss can be turned into an opportunity to create life-changing resiliency and equip us with tools to handle the changing seasons of our lives.

Stuart J. Roth practices constitutional and international law in Washington, DC

There are nearly eight billion people on earth, and all of us will face some form of adversity. All experiences will do something for you or something to you. I have learned that every setback can make you bitter or better, and it is your choice. Adversity will only visit the strong but will stay forever with the weak. In this book, Aaron Frh challenges you to meet adversity head-on and press on regardless of your heartaches and losses. I believe that if you always try to do your best and never give up, eventually God will take care of everything else.

Coach Dale Brown , LSU basketball coach 19721997; college basketball hall of fame member

Very few people want to discuss loss, and fewer still are able discuss it in a productive, purposeful waybut that is exactly what Aaron Frh has done in this book. Bounce is a remarkably pleasant read, skillfully weaving together historical accounts, personal anecdotes, solid theological understanding, and pragmatic wisdom. But more importantly, Bounce is a valuable field guide that equips readers to grow through, not merely get through, experiences that are remarkably unpleasant.

Thomas Arington , chairman of Prasco Laboratories, Cincinnati, Ohio

Matthew Lawsons Paper Plates

Strength is not created by adversity; it is merely awakened by it.

Mark Eddy Smith, Tolkiens Ordinary Virtues: Exploring the Spiritual Themes of the Lord of the Rings

M atthew Lawson lived and died without much fanfare. The only proof I have of his existence is a worn-out photograph from the 1960s and a story. The photo is of Matthew, standing in front of his desk piled high with history books and wearing an Indiana Jonesstyle hat, leather jacket, and a holster around his waist, with a six-shooter in hand and a sly half smile simmering on his lips. An old oil portrait of an Apache Indian chief hangs on the wall behind him. The colors of Matthew Lawsons photograph all seem to have merged with age. Polaroid, perhaps? Its not such a great picture, but the story, well, thats something else. When I heard it, it stopped me in my tracks.
