All of the animals Ive had the honor of loving through the years. I cant begin to name you all here but there are some who deserve a special mention. Dogs: Bandit, Tinkerbell, Klaskie, Joker, Gypsy, Jinx, Max, Chanel, Irie, Domino. Cats: Chalis, Onyx. Horses: Lady, April, Picasso, Eike, Knight, Zoltan, Zoey, Klaske, Trudy, Nikita, Friesia, Bella, Ce-Ce, Bonita, Kissa, Jitska, Silver, Grasshopper, Madonna. And especially April, my New Forest Pony who followed the ten-year-old me wherever Id go, even into the basement to lie on the floor and watch Dark Shadows , or to my bedroom when Mama and Daddy werent looking (and until we got caught and had to go back outside). To all of the animals that showed up while I was writing this book (there are way too many to name individually). You have each taught me so much and for that, and you, I am thankful.
T hanks for picking up my book today. Before we delve into the subject of animal frequency, let me tell you a little about my connection with animals and why I wrote this book. I grew up on a farm in Southern Virginia surrounded by nature and animals. Like most farmers in the area, we had dogs, cats, hogs, cows, chickens, and horses. There were fish and bullfrogs in the ponds behind our house. Summer evenings were filled with chasing fireflies and listening to the whip-poor-wills lonesome call. Summer nights brought the sounds of the bullfrogs, cicadas, crickets, and other creatures of the night, which often lulled me to sleep with their rhythmic resonance. Morning dawned with the song of the sparrows, meadowlarks, robins, and cardinals. During my childhood, I frequently encountered chinchillas, foxes, deer, snakes, snapping turtles, terrapins, squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, dogs, cats, pigs, horses, cows, and many other wild and domesticated animals. As a child, it was all I knew. My father even nicknamed me Lizard because I would catch and release the lizards around the barn. Now, as an adult living in Florida, I still catch all the lizards that get in the house and put them back outside, my dad still calls me Lizard from time to time, and I still hold to my childhood memories because that is where my understanding and connection to what I call animal frequency and energy animals began.
