We see the presence of angels showing up in dreams, visitations and encounters. The history of the entire Gospel was shaped through angelic activity. Today it may not be as common to hear about angelic visitations and encounters, but they exist and are happening right in our midst! In fact, there are more accounts of supernatural activity in the body of Christ today then in the centuries proceeding. Why now? Why is there a heightened awareness of angelic beings? The answer is because God is preparing us for the great harvest, and we cannot do it alone!

I have never had the amazing experience of seeing angels with my physical sight, but I have no doubt encountered their presence. In fact, much of my existence today is due not just to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, but also to the help of angels. It was at the University of Maryland where I believe I encountered an intervention that possibly saved my life. I was walking with some college friends on campus when out of nowhere a speeding motorcycle hit me in my back, catapulting me through the air. As I skidded to a violent stop on the concrete, my college buddies thought I was dead.

I should have been dead, or seriously injured. Instead, I gingerly stood up without a scratch on me; not even my clothes were tarnished from being run over. I believe angels were there to protect me, maybe even my guardian angel. Although I did not see any angels, I know their presence was there to protect me.

Ive also had what I believe was a Macedonian call to come to California back in the 80s. A large African American man appeared to me in a dream and told me to come to California, for there will be a great harvest. It was the prompting from what I believe was the angel of Los Angeles that brought me here from the East Coast. Through the confirmation of my leadership, I obeyed and have been living here in Southern California since 1984.

Then there was my 2007 dream of angels. In it, I saw many harvest angels coming out of the water carrying harvest nets. And I heard in my spirit the scripture, Be(ing) diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3, NASB). The Lord gave me these two dreams to encourage my spirit, but also to instruct me and guide me in my ministry walk. The angels that appeared in my dreams were messenger angels.

Jerames book is a great guide to the angelic realm because it explains the different kinds of angels and their purposes. You will be encouraged and provoked by the passion and obedience of this young revivalist as he illustrates his personal stories.
