Rev. John G. Kruis passed into his eternal home in November 2010.

We would like to pay tribute to both of our parents, John and Gene Kruis, who were loving and faithful servants of God and of his people. For them, the reading and study of the Bible was an important and delightful part of every day. We are grateful to God for their example and for their love and devotion to him and to us.

At the beginning of counseling sessions, after listening carefully to those seeking counsel, Dad would say, I have good news for you; there is hope! Salvation

I. Apart from Christ we are helpless and sinful.

Why This Book?

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Tim. 3:1617). The word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Heb. 4:12).

As you do the Lords work, the Holy Spirit is always the primary counselor, and he works powerfully, sovereignly through his own Word.

He brings people to a conviction of sin and to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through his Word. It is by the Scriptures that he teaches them how to love God and their neighbors as themselves, to live a life of faith and obedience in response to his saving grace. Through the Scriptures the Holy Spirit comforts, rebukes, corrects, and trains them in righteousness. In this way people of all ages and from various walks of life are helped; all kinds of personal, marriage, and family problems are resolvedand God is glorified.

It is, therefore, essential for you to be thoroughly equipped with the Scriptures, prepared for every good work. The better equipped you are, the more effective you will be in helping others.
