Neither the practice of Yoga Nidra nor this book are replacements for appropriate medical care. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. It can be used to reduce symptoms, side effects, and help with your ability to cope with your issues. If you have a serious medical condition or mental illness, consult licensed healthcare providers to get their advice before proceeding and supervise your health status as your practice progresses. The material presented is constantly evolving. This work represents the authors current understanding and interpretation of Yoga Nidra and what the contributors have offered. The information may not represent the views of all the contributors as Yoga can be interpreted in different ways depending on the translations and source material.
The word Yoga can either be capitalized or in lowercase. In reality, Yogas purpose, philosophy, principles, teachings, and all its traditions and branches go far beyond the common misperception that yoga is simply practicing postures. As valuable as postures are, it is only a fraction of what Yoga entails. Postures can be thought of as lowercase yoga, whereas capitalizing Yoga suggests a more comprehensive and accurate viewpoint. We chose to capitalize Yoga throughout this book.

Remember This
Vast and changeless,
the ground of being
is not rocked by
ripples on the pond.
The firmament from
which we spring, the
divinity at the heart
of things doesnt wax
or wane with mind states,
or wither in the wind.
We come from stronger
stuff than feelings.
Essence does not fail
or fade, diminish or
trade reality for illusion.
We are wordless, wide,
and wise beyond time.
Within us is a flame
of truth that never dies.
Let that be the focal
point of life. Let that
