Introduction
As a fitness specialist, you'd expect most of my clients to be amateur and pro athletes looking for ways to enhance their performance. But the reality is that most of the people who come to me looking for help are mainly concerned with their weight. It shouldn't surprise anyone because we've been witnessing an explosion in obesity rates that are sending shockwaves through the health and wellbeing community. The real question here is simple enough: Is there an effective answer to this problem?
The surprise for most of my clients is that the main answer to their condition lies in the kind of food they eat. I don't want to impose some crazy diet for a few weeks and then see the pounds pile back on once the diet is over. I use the Paleo Method of eating that completely respects the human body's need for the most natural forms of nutrition we can find. That's one of the great secrets of switching the metabolism from fat-storing to fat-burning and it isn't a diet: it's a way of life that supports health, natural weight loss and the recovery of great levels of fitness and wellbeing.
But the body needs movement and exercise too and, as a track and field athlete for most of my life, I've discovered the amazing benefits of the Pilates System for toning and strengthening the body. This is where the two systems combine: we choose super-healthy nutrition and we use a totally safe and effective exercise programme that can revolutionise our posture and the way we use our bodies. The results have to be experienced to be fully appreciated. We burn off the fat, especially those stubborn pounds around the belly, and we tighten and tone the entire body. It's a beautiful recipe for a new way of life, for a stronger, slimmer and fitter body. You can enjoy all of these benefits too and it is my privilege to share these methods and ideas with you so that you can start to enjoy your life on a whole new level of wellbeing.
About the Author
Aser has a heart thats as big as his bulging muscles and a smile that could melt the Polar ice caps. Hes a big guy and hed be pretty hard to miss in a crowd but hes also a man whos dedicated most of his life to improving the fitness, wellbeing and happiness of thousands of individuals whove come to his studio to learn how to make the most of their bodies. Sometimes those bodies have been damaged and sometimes theyre just suffering from neglect. Either way, Aser has been the go-to guy to get fixed.
Born on a farm in the rolling plains of the mid-west, he learned to love the fresh air and the physically-demanding chores that endowed him with strong muscles and a lean body. He played football at high school but his first passion as a teenager was weightlifting and this is where his natural talent began to shine. By the time he was in college, he was entering and winning competitions, showing the promise of his future physique that would win prizes as a bodybuilder. Yet it was his chance encounter with a young man whod suffered injuries in a motorcycle accident that would change his life forever.
The young man had suffered major injuries to his legs and hed been told that he would never be able to walk again. That meant that he would have to rely on a wheelchair for his mobility for the rest of his life. Aser had learned a great deal about anatomy during his long hours in the gym and wondered if the doctors had been a little too pessimistic about the young mans condition. So the two men began working together, strengthening the damaged limbs and gradually introducing the first hints of movement and flexibility. And then the young man learned to stand. It was a breakthrough moment that led to his first independent steps since he hit the back of a truck on his motorcycle. The hospital was suitably impressed too but, if he was going to practise as a licensed therapist, Aser would need formal the formal qualifications that would permit him to work in his new chosen field.
That was all the motivation that Aser needed. Disciplined from years of training and driven to use his knowledge to help more people to recover from accidents, injury, illness or surgery, Aser studied hard, gaining top marks in his exams and setting up his studio that soon become famous for the amazing work that he performed.
As you might expect from such a perfectionist, Aser never stopped learning, honing and developing his skills, refining his knowledge and studying related disciplines to expand his repertoire of alternatives. Eventually, he began to teach his skills to others and that led him to formalise his methods and techniques and then to sharing his knowledge about the best ways to get into great shape in a series of books. Generous as ever, he understood the importance of making his extensive knowledge available to the world. Its a fitting legacy for a man who has helped so many.
Aser married his college sweetheart and they have three beautiful children. He still lives in his beloved mid-west, close to the fields and farm life that he knew so well as a child, drawing inspiration from the majesty of Nature and providing a perfect picture of vibrant and robust health. Its the kind of vigorous health and wellbeing that he aims to share with everyone.
