I grew up in South Africa with a very logical mind. I could prove my point of view and back it up with loads of evidence. As a result, I spent the majority of my adult life as an attorney. However, my life took a surprising turn, and I found myself in the most illogical of pursuits; working with the spirit world. Now I seek evidence not in the courtroom but in my mediumship readings, and for the last twelve years I have been teaching classes in mediumship and psychic development.

Ive seen Chris work in public demonstrations and in private readings, and hes quite good. Hes given me readings where hes accurately brought through my family members and their messages. Ive also seen Chris grow as a medium in my development circles, and its clear spirit is guiding him. When he initially told me hed written a book about mediumship and asked me to read it, I thought it was just going to be yet another book on the topic. At first, I didnt think it was going to shed any light or do much for anyone.

However, I was stunned when I read Chris book. Those who know me realize thats not something that happens easily. I couldnt put down the book because the moment I began reading it I was captivated by how he practically put me in his shoes during his readings and experiences. I felt and saw what he was experiencing, and it was almost palpable. This is no dry book on mediumship, this is a detailed journey into the spirit realm. Even with my many years as a medium and tutor, I felt I gained something reading this book.

What I found so interesting is how well Chris is able to weave together his over twenty years of personal research on the spirit world with his experiences as a medium. As a result, he is able to fluently articulate what spirit is, how the spirit world works, how we can communicate with spirit, and what our spirit loved ones are trying to let us know. Chris clearly describes that our family and friends in spirit are full of love and that the spirit realm is much closer than we realize.

Some of the most poignant moments in the book for me included Chris spiritual journey as well as the incredibly moving readings that he provides. He takes the reader through his amazing evolution from agnostic materialist to spiritual medium, which I found so powerful. Its easy for someone to say theyve always believed or they were brought up thinking spiritually. But when someone goes from skeptic to believer to practitioner, the potent transformation sends shivers down your spine. You begin to realize that there are greater forces at work guiding us in ways we never previously contemplated.

I loved the descriptions of his numerous readings with clients that tangibly demonstrate how our spirit loved ones heal us with their transformational love. Chris puts the reader in his mind and body, enabling us to viscerally feel, know and see everything that happens to him throughout the reading. We intimately know how spirit connects with him and what its like for spirit to work through him. We get to see how the recipient of the reading is transformed, which pulls at every ounce of our emotions and opens our hearts. Consequently, we too are transformed by spirits eternal love.

Im very busy with my work as a medium and founder of The MontClair Psychic School which is focused on the development of psychics, mediums and healers. I normally dont have time to read books. However, I found Spirits Beside Us so compelling, I had to read it, and Im glad I did. Chris is not only a good medium, hes a great author and wordsmith.
