I usually start out my books by talking about how many years of research have gone into the particular work. While its true that much research has been done in the preparation of this book, its different from the others in a sense. The reason is that it encompasses a personal story thats very close to my heartone that details not just the reality of spirit guides, but the very real odyssey of my life with my primary guide, Francine, whos been with me since the very beginning of my journey in this lifetime. She and I made a pact, as we all do before we come into life, that shed be helping me along the way. In turn, she and I would both learn for God and complete our mission in life.

We write our lifes chart with the help of a group of friends, helpers, and the Council, which is comprised of wise master teachers, all of whom help us map out our purpose. Then the spirit guide comes in to study with us and to help as much as possible. After 68 years of being with my guide, Francine, I can truthfully say that she is my dearest, most treasured friend. Have I always agreed with her? Absolutely not! Have I tested her? Definitely. But I have to say that shes usually right, notwithstanding my sometimes stubborn need to argue with her.

I hope that this book gives you an insight into spirit guidesthese often silent, omnipresent, patient helpers who have no other agenda but to get us through this life in the best way we can, and then go back Home to God. I had to laugh to myself when I read what well-known medium Arthur Fords guide (Fletcher) replied when he was asked during a trance session if he would ever like to hold this position again. Fletcher responded without hesitation, Never! Im sure that most guides tend to feel this way.

What people may not realize is that although spirit guides are quite advanced entities who exist on a very high vibrational level, they still have to be somewhat humanized. If they werent, they really wouldnt give a damn what happens to us. So, of all the entities who reside on the Other Side, Id say that spirit guides display more human-type emotions than any of them. And I thank God that they do. After all, whod want a spirit guide who acted like an unfeeling robotwith the attitude that whatever trauma you were experiencing would soon pass and that youd forget all about it once you returned to the Other Side?

So, if you should ever feel abandoned and alone, I want you to remember that youre never without protection or companionship. Not only is God omnipresent, but so are Jesus, the angels, and last but not least, the often unsung heroes who stand patiently byloving, helping, and healing us:
