(Please note: The three books contained in this volume were written at different points in Sylvia Brownes life, with many years passing between each work. Every effort has been made during the compiling process to ensure that all three books are as accurate as possible, yet in the end, Sylvia put each of them together to the best of her recollection.)
This year (2009) I will be 73 years old. I have been doing readings for about 55 of those years and have met so many remarkable people during that time! In fact, I deeply desire to get back to doing those one-on-one readingsI miss that closeness so Ive decided to limit my travels.
As I embark upon my farewell tour of lecturing, Ive been thinking about my life up to this point, including the wonderful adventures Ive had and the incredible things Ive learned. I thought that this would be the perfect time to release a volume containing my life story up until now: including my first book, Adventuresof a Psychic, written so many years ago with my friend Antoinette May; and If You Could See What I See, the sequel of sorts that was penned by me alone. And as my faithful readers know, Ive spoken countless times of the impact my grandmother Ada had on me, both as a psychic and a human being. Ive often mentioned that Id like to compile a book of her letters and inspirational sayings... and Ive done so now. Accepting the Psychic Torch is both a tribute to this amazing woman (and I do indeed share many of her letters and sayings) and another chapter in the story of my life.
Please note that while I may not be traveling so much anymore, this doesnt mean that Im going to stop being there for you. You all are so important to me, and I will continue researching, writing, and doing readings for you as long as I am able. After all, there is so much more I have left to do in order to keep that psychic torch lit, and I look forward to the journey.

PSYCHIC
I had many reasons for wanting this book written, but two of my primary goals deserve special mention. First of all, I wanted to give people an understanding of what a psychic is truly all about. Being psychic is a family pattern that includes my grandmother, Ada Coil; an uncle; and my youngest son, Christopher Dufresne. The genetic aspect is important, but it is not the truest measure of what being psychic really entails. The real issues revolve around our trials and tribulations, our heartaches and struggles, and the tempering of our souls to make us a vehicle for God.
