This book on Hashimotos disease was a real eye opener for me. Vikki spoke not only from her own personal experience with this terrible disease, but also from a yoga teachers, massage therapists, and Ayurvedic practitioners point of view. She is very knowledgeable on this topic and with her Ayurvedic practice I have known Vikki all my life, and shes a very honest, smart, loving, and caring person. Vikki believes in herself and is open to help anyone who seeks the truth about their disease and the healing process of it.

In our modern-day society where everyone is looking for a quick fix or pill to cure our diseases, its refreshing to learn about an approach to treating the whole person rather than just the disease. Chapter 1:
My Journey Getting Diagnosed and Learning Methods of Treatment
Hashimotos disease is not pretty. You think you are going crazy half the time, and when you are finally diagnosed, you begin to see that it didnt just happen.
In my mid-twenties, I began to have very heavy periods, loosing slabs of blood clots that looked like packaged liver. I lost thirty pounds and was always in pain. I went to seven physicians before anyone diagnosed that I had a tumor at the age of twenty-seven. How could this have happened to me? I was young, healthy, a vegetarian, had my children at home everything and anything clean and natural. I ended up having a hysterectomy after they found a thirteen pound tumor on my uterus that had tucked itself under the intestines.
