Are you feeling stuck?

No one ever wants to be stuck, but it happens. And when it does it can be so dang hard to get unstuck. I know because Ive been there, and if youre reading this book, youre probably either feeling stuck right now or have in the past. And doesnt it stink?

Being stuck drains your peace and joy and sucks the life right out of you. It makes you feel hopeless about your current situation, like theres something wrong with you because you should be able to get out of the rut youre in, right?

It makes you look around and wonder why no one else seems stuck on the sidelines. Your best friend, the mom you chat with at PTA meetings, and especially the woman who runs your favorite Instagram accountthey all seem to be doing big things, bubbling over with excitement about their activities and jobs, and just generally living their best lives. And that makes you feel even worse about your current situation.

Thats what stuck does. It pulls you into comparison traps and makes you believe the lies that it will always be this way and you can never and if only. Slowly you start to believe that your situation, your relationship, your jobyour lifeare the only ones stuck and that it will always be this way.

The thing is, being stuck doesnt just affect you. It impacts everything and everyone you touch, and it drains the life from the people in your world. When youre stuck its impossible to be the best you that you can be. Your spouse will feel it. So will your kids. And your friends. You were never meant to stay stuck. Your family and friends need you unstuck. The world needs you free to do what you were made to do.

Stuck people stay small. When youre stuck, you dont take risks or chances, no matter how exciting they are. You miss out on so many of the things that God has planned for you because youre too stuck to claim them. And when you stay small, all the people you are meant to influence go uninfluenced. That means those people are more likely to stay small and stuck too. Stuck people stick people. (Thats tweetable.)

But Ive got great news for you. You dont have to stay stuck and overwhelmed and afraid forever. You have it in you to push your fear aside and do the big, hard, and scary things you were made for.

But you have to get unstuck first. So lets do it. Lets get you free. Your future is worth the fight. And so are you.

Know If Youre Stuck

I want you to know there is so much hope. If you are stuck, scared, or overwhelmed and trapped in your own head... you are in the right place. And yes, girl, in case you arent entirely sure, there is more for you. God does have more for you than this.

But are you really stuck?

You might not be.

Life is made up of seasons, and sometimes a season of rest can feel a little like being stuck if youre used to going a hundred miles an hour all the time. Or you may feel stuck because youve lost the forest for the trees, and if you pulled up to see the big picture, youd realize just how much progress youre making. It could be that you are in the middle of a daunting situation thats so new and challenging that you feel stuck because you are moving slowlybut keep in mind, you are moving.

And moving is progress. And progress is not stuck.

So how can you tell if youre genuinely stuck or just unsure and overthinking things? Lets start with a little quiz to help you figure out where you stand. (Who doesnt love a quiz?)
