PRAISE FOR
THE ART OF GETTING IT WRONG
Open-hearted vulnerability. A real pleasure to read and a reminder of the best in all of us. I was encouraged and inspired. Thanks, Stephen!
Leslie Odom Jr., two-time Academy Award nominee as Hamiltons Aaron Burr, and author of Failing Up
In his closing remarks in this book, Stephen Miller observes that the world tends to write our victories in the sand while etching our failures in concrete. In our more honest moments, most of us must also admit that we do this very thing to ourselves. The negative verdicts that occupy our minds and hearts throughout the day about never measuring up, about being too much of this or not enough of that, can form us in such a way that the gremlins of regret, shame, and failure become our heart mentors. Thats what makes books like The Art of Getting it Wrong, and transparent and serious writers like Stephen, so needed and helpful. Stephen effectively points us back to the reality that what is true for him is also true for us. Its all going to be okay, because God cannot stop loving us and has secured the greatest future for us.
Scott Sauls, senior pastor, Christ Presbyterian Church, Nashville, Tennessee, and author of Beautiful People Dont Just Happen
As someone who has lots of experience getting it wrong, this book provided encouragement and instruction on how to let our mishaps refine us instead of define us. Written in Stephen Millers classic humor, we found ourselves delightfully challenged from start to finish.
Andrew East and Shawn Johnson East, former National Football League player and Olympic gold gymnast/The East Fam
With his trademark passion, humor, and optimism, Stephen Miller brings an important and timely message for us in The Art of Getting It Wrong. We all need a friend who can remind us that its going to be okay, even when lifes disappointments, failures, or deep hurts threaten to pull us down. It may not feel like it now, but its going to be okay. Personally, I need this perspective more than ever. If you find yourself in this place too, youll want to read this book!
Lysa TerKeurst, #1 New York Times bestselling author and president of Proverbs 31
Were so encouraged by Stephens unabashed self-reflection and message that we arent bound or defined by our failures. Our God is orchestrating a powerful story in us all. We all struggle with self-doubt and fear in the hard moments in life, and this book is like a warm hug!
Adam and Danielle Busby, OutDaughtered on TLC and Its A Buzz World YouTube channel
Through his faith, relatable movie quotes, and self-deprecating humor, Stephen Miller takes us on a journey through his life and shows us that we are not the sums of our mistakes; we are what we learn from them. The Art of Getting It Wrong is exactly the type of message this world needs todaya message that no matter how bad we may feel about failure, we are simply going to be okay. Excellent read!
Shaun and Mindy McKnight, Cute Girls Hairstyles
In The Art of Getting It Wrong, Stephen Miller reminds us that we do not need to be defined by our worst moments. If you find yourself trying to get back up after falling down, youll find this book brimming with encouragement and buoyant with hope.

Guide
I dont think it surprises anyone to say that YouTube can be a pretty pretentious place. Like its hard to know whats real and whats not. A lot of people get caught up in the drama and clickbait to get the views. And that can make people cynical, which sucks. So Savannah and I always notice when we find a family thats actually real... who are marked by just honest, authentic love. We ourselves, through our own family, have really tried to show this kind of authentic love that inspires people. Weve shared a lot of ups and downs, highs and lows, and somehow by Gods grace, weve had more than 13 million people decide to join us as subscribers, which is honestly pretty mind-blowing. Thats why we love The Miller Fam and Stephen! Thats who Stephen is! Just a dude being realmistakes and all (like a lot of them)and inviting people into his journey. He and Amanda have created a space that shows the beauty and the brokenness of marriage, adoption, parenting with special needs, and having a gigantic family.
Stephen is a lot like me in so many waysa goofy, go-big-or-go-home kind of guy with dreams to change the world. He loves Jesus and loves his wife and loves his kids, and the wisdom he has written in this book is something I really hope everyone reads. Its something I wish I would have been able to read years ago! We all get it wrong sometimes. Some of us more than others. But the truth stays the same, whether we screw up all the time or only every once in a while.
