Introduction

W e all have questions about our lives. Everyone wants to learn more about their goals, careers, families, health, money, and travel. We all have problems and concerns and want information about matters that are going on in our lives in advance. This is why divination is just as popular today as it ever has been.

Divination is the art of predicting future events or discovering hidden knowledge using a variety of techniques, such as prophecy and intuition. There are many types of divination, and the main ones, plus some unusual ones, are covered in this book. Some are thousands of years old, while others have been developed recently.

If divination is new to you, Im hoping this book will open your mind to a practice that has existed throughout human civilization and is still hugely popular today. I also hope youll find some methods of divination that appeal to you, and in most cases I provide enough information to get you started. Ive also included details for other books on specific subjects to enable you to learn more about the areas that interest you.

I hope this book also appeals to people who are already involved in one or more methods of divination. Its always helpful to have other methods to use in different situations. In addition, as you learn about a technique youre not already familiar with, you may find information that will prove helpful in the type of divinations you currently perform. Heres an example: I read palms, but I almost always include numerology with it, as I find it enables me to be more specific when working out the timing of future events. You might even find a method that will become as useful to you as the techniques you use now.

Even if you have no interest in performing divinations for others, I hope youll enjoy learning about the different methods people have used when attempting to part the veil and glimpse into the future. You might try some of the techniques to help you gain access to your intuition and learn more about whats going on in your life.

Divination is a popular topic, and even though many people claim not to believe in it, youll find theyre often the first to ask if they could have their palms or cards read. Learning a form of divination guarantees your popularity at any social gathering, as youll have a skill thats always in demand.

It takes time and practice to become good at any form of divination. Once youve gained confidence with a system, youll be able to temporarily ignore your rational conscious mind and gain access to your intuitive side. Once youre able to do that, youll be able to help yourself and other people in many different ways.
