Introduction
Thank you very much and congratulations for downloading Chakra - Discover your hidden energy. This book contains all you need to know about all the Chakras and an explanation on how you can benefit from them and also use this knowledge to help others. I hope you will enjoy reading.
Summary
The understanding of Chakras is very important as a first step in harnessing your hidden life-changing energies and employing your inner powers for your physical and spiritual healing. The word chakra has its roots in the Vedic teachings of ancient India. It is a Sanskrit work meaning the wheel of light. Chakras denote the energy centers that are found in every man and woman.
This book looks at the nature of these energy sources, gives an explanation why they exist in the human body, and finally gives instructions on how they can be utilized for our benefit.
Seven main energy centers in the human body have been discussed plus other Chakras that have been newly discovered. The seven main Chakras that have been discussed include the Root Chakra (Muladhara) which is located in the lower part of the body and anchors human beings in life. Others are the Sacral Chakra (Svadisthana), the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura), the Heart Chakra (Anahata), the Throat Chakra (Vishuddha), the Brow or Third Eye Chakra (Ajna), and the Crown Chakra (Sahasrara).
The Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) is located in the head. It is the most refined and is the spiritual center in the human energy system. According to Chakra teachings, there are seven bodies that describe every persons aura. They are the Astral, Spiritual, Physical, Soul, Mental, Divine, and the Etheric bodies.
According to the teachings, these bodies are in constant state of vibration in ways that are allied to the colors of the universe. These bodies are not visible to the human eye, with the exception of the physical body. We need to understand these bodies in detail in order to appreciate our hidden energies and to be able to correct Chakra imbalances and also tap these hidden energies or powers for peaceful and productive living.
The new Chakras that have also been discussed include the Earth Star Chakra, the Hara/Navel Chakra, the Casual Chakra, the Soul Star and the Stellar Gateway Chakra.
The last section of the book contains a description of how the knowledge of Chakra can be used in healing.
Chapter 1
What are Chakras?
A ccording to Hindus and some other traditions like the tantric/yogic traditions, Chakras are energy points or knots in the non-physical human body or the subtle body. They believe that human beings are not just physical bodies for around them are pulsating electromagnetic energy fields (bio-energies) that are described as rainbow-like aura or as luminous light body.
The energy fields interact with the physical body by flowing through concentrated spirals of energy. These spiraling energy centers are known as Chakras in Yoga practice. Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheels of light. Chakras are located at the physical counterparts of the major plexuses nerves, veins and arteries. Through this interaction, they feed in good energy and dispose unwanted energy. This is important for humans general health and prevention of illness or diseases. Many Chakras exist in the subtle human body but only seven are considered to be most important.
There are people who are sensitive enough to see the bio-energies. They say that the colors within the bio-energies are constantly changing depending on your state of health, emotions and spiritual development.
Each of these Chakras has a link to the seven endocrine glands of the physical human body. The Endocrine glands secrete their hormones directly into the blood stream. They include;
The adrenal medulla found above the kidneys.
The sexual organs (testes and ovaries)
The pancreas
The thymus
The thyroid gland
The hypothalamus and
The pituitary gland
T he seven main Chakras include;
The Base Chakra Muladhara
The Sacral Chakra - Svadisthana
The Solar Plexus Chakra - Manipura
The Heart Chakra - Anahata
The Throat Chakra Vishuddha
The Brow Chakra - Ajna
The Crown Chakra Sahasrara

Chapter 2
The Base Chakra - Muladhara
Contemporary Hindu
(The Big Book of Chakra 2010)
T he base Chakra is also known as the root, adhara, bhumi, brahma padma or mula. It is associated with the element of Earth. It symbolizes the densest grade of manifestation and the basis of life. Just as the roots of a tree connect it to the Earth, Muladhara also connects us to the Earth.
The base Chakra center is described as having four lotus petals, blood-red in color, each corresponding to the psychological states of greatest joy, delight in controlling passions, natural pleasure, and blissfulness in concentration, leading to meditation. Red color is associated with warning, warmth, anger, courage, passion, heroic virtues, blood, stability, lust, love etc.
It is connected with the adrenal medulla which secretes the hormone called adrenaline. This hormone is associated with fear, anxiety and rage. It narrows the blood vessels making the blood to flow faster leading to faster breathing and faster heart rate.
Grounding or rooting us is the main function of Muladhara. It is characterized by strong will for survival. Muladhara channels Earth energy upward through the feet and legs to process and stabilize it. The energy is moved up the spine where it is now transmitted in the form that the body recognizes as signals, to balance the endocrine system through the release of hormones.
This Earth energy is necessary for our very survival. It is what makes you to look for work, to earn money, acquiring a home, achieving a stable position, and making sure that all your basic needs are met.
Those who neglect the material world need to work more on their blocked Muladhara; these people exhibit low body vitality, chronic illness, arrogance and self-importance. Self-importance is that feeling that one is more important than others; or is above others. On the other hand, feeling that one is worthless is a Muladhara imbalance too.
Muladhara is also associated with returning karma. This is the sum of experiences from previous existences. There can be good or bad karma, but they are there for us to learn from them. Muladhara also acts as the energetic recycling bin of the auric field. It changes negative emotional energies into power and light, and returns to earth any waste that other Chakras can not deal with, except Svadisthana. If your Muladhara is not connected to the Earth, you can not expel waste emotions.
