HELLO! WELCOME TO the world of chakra yoga! I am so happy that you found this book and are on your way to discovering how much healing you can achieve through practicing yoga and learning more about the chakras.
I began my yoga journey in a yoga for dancers class, which I was required to take while studying for my bachelors degree in dance. About six years later, after practicing yoga recreationally at gyms and in yoga studios, I decided I wanted to dive deeper into yoga and get my teacher-training certification. I completed the first 200 hours of my yoga-teacher training in one month, and it completely changed my life. About a year later, I added 300 additional hours to that certification, and I have been teaching and practicing yoga ever since.
I came to learn more about the chakras while trying to solve my own issues with generalized anxiety disorder. I wanted to see if energy was blocked in certain areas of my body and whether there were specific poses I should be doing more often to release that energy and achieve less anxiety in my life. Through this research, I became completely fascinated with the chakra system. As I reached a deeper understanding about the chakras, I began to incorporate chakra balancing into my personal yoga practice.
For instance, I discovered that during a panic attack, I held a lot of tension in my heart chakra. Once I knew that, when I had a panic attack or felt one coming on, I focused my energy and did particular yoga poses or sequences to alleviate some of the tightness and discomfort I was experiencing in that area. I also discovered other areas that needed attention, and with my understanding of the chakras, I am now able to continually work toward finding balance and harmony throughout my body.
A chakra yoga practice is very rewarding, and you are able to get a lot more out of your yoga practice when you pay close attention to the chakras as you move through the poses. Once you have a basic knowledge of the location and the functionality of each chakra and are able to connect yoga asanas and the chakra system together, you can heal your body and mind more efficiently. Through a consistent chakra yoga practice over time, you can improve your quality of life by feeling lighter and less anxious, with more flexibility and strength. It is a way of life that takes commitment, but it is definitely worth the time and effort.
In this book, you will learn the basics about the chakras, such as their individual locations in the body, what they govern in terms of your physical well-being, and what it feels like when there is an issue that needs to be addressed, such as a blockage or lack of energy in that area. You will also learn how to heal problems that may come up and achieve balance throughout your body. There are guided yoga poses and sequences that you can practice on your own, which is a great place to begin your journey in the exploration of chakra yoga.
While chakra yoga is a great way to heal your body and mind from many ailments, it is best to practice it in conjunction with consulting medical professionals. Chakra yoga is an excellent supplementary tool for improving your overall health and well-being, and it can be used along with treatments your physician prescribes or recommends. As long as you consult your doctor, listen to your body, and be kind to yourself, you will achieve a great amount of healing and balance.
