Imagine a world where everyone has access to all the stories of your ancestors, this would help you to connect to your lineage, heal relationships, and enable these stories to be passed down to future generations.
In this book, I discuss real-life ancestral stories. For example, a family with a history of Parkinsons disease across many generations. The ancestral healer tracked the origin of the illness to a time in Africa when an ancestor witnessed the death of her brother, who was bitten by a snake. This caused the essence of this trauma to manifest in Parkinsons disease for future generations until the time came for it to be reviewed by the ancestral healer, which cleared and healed it for all future generations in the lineage. This is one of the many real-life stories that are shared in this book, obtained from the authors client work and group workshops during the completion of genuine energetic healing work.
The process of illuminating the shadow aids soul healing and evolution. Healing ancestral patterns is the key to unlock shadow work. As more souls embody more of their source energy on Earth, delving into the shadow is more important than ever. It frees us from energy and patterns that do not serve us anymore. In these turbulent times, the shadow is staring us in the face on an individual and collective level; this is an important time to complete this work. This book shares pioneering knowledge and wisdom about shadow and ancestral work.
Illuminating the shadow provides access to the gold; the healing and the wisdom, within which are the secrets of the universe ready to be accessed. Healing the ancestral shadow brings more joy into your life, along with improved relationships with your family and everyone around you. It provides a deep and safe exploration through all the ancestral layers that hold the key to your healing. Our own shadow often manifests itself as an opportunity to delve into the shadow and to find the story behind what is causing us pain.

Foreword

O ver the last few decades, I have watched Anthea Durand grow in confidence and stature within the spiritual field, so it is no surprise that she has sought to reveal her experience and knowledge in this welcome publication. Her first book, Illumination of the Shadow; Ancestral Wisdom from the Past for the Future, transcends the realities of ancestral fields, the realm of shadows, and the present world, and in so doing, seeks to heal the past and the present.

Antheas book is inspirational and enlightening in an area where there is little else that is comparable. The title of Antheas book itself is inspiring, resonating as it does with the increasing interest in and awareness of and the impact of ancestral healing and the importance of shadows, and their world. Antheas writing style is light and easy, drawing the reader along an informative path that weaves the world of our ancestors into our own lives. She successfully shows the significance of the former by shedding a light on the shadows that influence our modern-day reality.

Those people who share Antheas obvious passion for helping other people through spirituality and shamanism, will find her enlightened thoughts on ancestral and generic healing as well as family ancestral stories to be of enormous help and very appealing.

The narrative throughout the publication ten chapters is driven by Antheas practical experience of real-life ancestral narratives from her own work in both individual and groups sessions, and also by practical steps that have sought to heal the ancestral and shadow realities. Topics range from: Our Ancestral Fields of Existence: Pathways of Consciousness ().

Even for those people who have a passing interest in the field, Antheas book will inform, inspire illuminate, and hopefully heal.

I really enjoyed learning from a book with so much knowledge, which made me reflect about life, ancestors, traumas, emotions and society. The content is very rich and the examples complement each other well. I recommend this book to anybody who is interested in his or her emotions and suffers from any strange illness/behaviours. Also, anyone who is interested in society, in life and healers.
