So many Christians exist but dont truly live . Instead of rooting out the junk in our lives, we often adjust to the weight of our issues, bury them deeper, and conveniently forget about them. Johns incredibly valuable book Moving Forward does not just identify cumbersome areas that deplete our spiritual lives but also provides practical, biblical tools to help us de-clutter and change for good.

Budget Guide
Here are some basic budget categories and average percentages to help serve as a guideline as you establish a budget. The percentages listed represent the total amount of your spendable income that goes toward that category.
To calculate your spendable income, add up your total income each month and deduct your monthly tithe and offerings, taxes, and money to establish a $1,000 emergency fund if you do not have one. Once you have established your $1,000 emergency fund, it no longer needs to be taken out of your total income at the beginning of each month, but it is wise to make sure that you continue to save.
Total income: | $ __________ |
Tithe (10%): | $ __________ |
Taxes: | $ __________ |
Emergency Fund: | $ __________ |
Spendable Income: | $ __________ |
Take your spendable income and apply the following percentages to come up with a basic guideline for your monthly budget.
(Note: Its important to account for the different costs that may fall under each category. For example, your transportation category needs to account for more than just your car payment; you have to take into consideration your car insurance, gas, repairs, and yearly fees for taxes and registration.)
Housing (32%) | $ __________ |
Food/Grocery (15%) | $ __________ |
Transportation (15%) | $ __________ |
Life Insurance (2%) | $ __________ |
Clothing (5%) | $ __________ |
