W hat signs do I look for? This is thequestion most often asked by those who have lost a loved one andare hoping for communication or contact from the other side. Therereally isnt an easy answer. Because our loved ones can leave anysign they wish, one cant arbitrarily say, Look for the pennies.Its not that simple.

There are no rules when it comes to Signsfrom the Afterlife. If you can think it, so can they. The mostimportant key to receiving, to acknowledging a gift from the otherside, is to have an open mind and an open heart.

Since we are human, oftentimes all we wantis that one big sign that slaps us in the face. That one hugemessage that says, Hey, Im right here. But when we dont get it,we tend to believe our loved one has left us for good. Thats nottrue.

As in the human relationships we share hereon earth, it takes effort and dedication to continue ourconnections with passed loved ones, too. They cant do all of thework, and were kidding ourselves if we think they should. It takestwoSpirit and You.

If youve never experienced the wonder andthe mystery of receiving miraculous signs and signals from thespiritual realm, please consider giving it a try. All you need is aheightened sense of awareness and an increase in yourconsciousness. Retraining our minds takes effort and lots ofpractice, but it can pay us back with priceless amounts ofdividends.

Messages from our lovedones, when identified, can potentially be life changing. Mostoften, they are the subtle signs, but even the slightest ones arethe messages that speak the loudest. Any, I must stress this word,ANY, sign or signal from the spiritual realm is important and has a purpose .

Sometimes the signs appear to comfort us intimes of sadness and deep grief and in other circumstances, theyare guideposts or traffic lights to direct us along our life path.Either way, it is our divine right to accept the gifts from spirit.And, its a skill that any of us can develop.

It does not require us to be psychic or havemediumistic abilities; all we need is a bit of faith and a wholelot of trust in someone we already love.

So what signs do we lookfor? The best way to notice them is to simply become aware thatthey exist. It certainly doesnt hurt to observe the small wondersthat are happening around us every day. For example, on your driveto work, a deer crosses the road in front of you. Did you know thata deer can give you a spiritual message? They tell us to be gentle with ourselves and to seek out ourinner treasures. Not only that, if ourloved one enjoyed feeding deer in his back yard, this could be asign saying, Its me, Im right here with you.

Because symbolic signs areunique and very individual, they may not always be easilyrecognized or immediately understood. From birds, animals, people,places, things, or events, symbolic signs are presented in manyforms and are simply the messenger; themessenger of spirit .

The list of Afterlife Signs is truly endlessand is not limited to the few listed in this book. These that aredocumented are more of the popular ones that thousands of peopleenjoy and recognize. Because theyre so often seen, and noted, theother side knows this and will use ANY tool they can to grab ourattention. As our relationships continue to grow with our lovedones, the signs will change form as we educate ourselves.

Its important for us tokeep our expectations simple. Our signs will show up in ways thatcomplement our lifestyle. There is no onesign fits all scenarios, and there are norules in how they appear. The message is always clear and directthough, I love you, and it is never meant to frighten ormislead us.

Lastly, it is always important for us toshow our gratitude to our loved ones. We need to be thankful forevery sign or message we receive and express that thanks verballyor within. Our dear ones know all, see all, and hear all so,saying thank you is one of the easiest things we can do.

The bottom line is our loved ones really dowant us to know they are okay. And, they want us to be okay, too.Knowing that our relationships can continue past this physical lifeis a blessing, and a wonderful gift.

Everything may happen for a reason, butsometimes a change in perspective can help us see what we havegained not what weve lost.

The Wonders ofNature

Chapter One

Butterflies andDragonflies

T he butterfly embodies the process of transformation and is avery popular sign by loved ones in the Afterlife. These wonders of nature areremarkable symbols.

When we think of transformation, the imagethat comes to mind is usually that of the butterfly. Floating ontop of a breeze, this beautiful little creature transports a wispof joy directly into the heart of its admirer.

But what we often fail tothink of is its amazing journey from caterpillar to butterfly.Their development process is called metamorphosis ; a Greek word meaningtransformation or change in shape.

Once their physical body has altered, thebutterfly must then find its way out of its old form. Diggingthrough the silky shell it created as the caterpillar, it releasesthe cocoon to venture out into a new world.

Symbolizing celebration, transitions, newbeginnings, time, and most importantly, rebirth after death, thebutterfly is the courier of joy, peace, and love. A perfect exampleof a joyful feeling was the day when Sunny received a lovelyvalidation from her deceased mother.

I was out at the beach oneday, meditating, and thinking about my mom. I was missing her andremembering how much she loved to go to the beach until it becametoo hard for her to walk in the sand. I could feel the warmsunshine on my face and as I slowly opened my eyes, I was stunnedto see not one butterfly, nor a dozen, but hundreds of them. Theywere everywhere; I had never seen so many butterflies at one time,ever. I smiled and laughed, and felt the love from my mother. Ithink she wanted to make sure I received her message. I did.
