A BOOK IS ONLY AS GOOD AS IT IS TIMELY, SAYS MY friend Carol.
And my cool writers-group friend, Ben, says, The right book at the right time is like God performing a mini-miracle in your life.
Heres to your mini-miracle, Prayer Warrior Mom!
This is your year, my friend. Your year of spiritual breakthrough. Your year of jubilee. Your year to live as a victor rather than a victim. Your year to see your children start loving God and living for Him. Your year to rejoice as your lost lamb returns to the fold. Your year to lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares... [and] run with endurance the race that is set before [you] (Heb. 12:12).
You are precious and prayed for. Youve been in my heart and on my mind with every word Ive written. I pray that this book meets you where you are and carries you into the realm of Gods infinite possibilities for you and your children. I want to see you break through to blessings that exceed your wildest dreams as you see God do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us (Eph. 3:20 NIV).
My Christ-anchored hope is that youll find this book to be both timely and transformational in every aspect of your life: spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, intellectual, theological, and so much more. I believe these fifteen chapters will inspire you to establish a new habit of praying for your children with power, authority, gratitude, and renewed faith.
Would you consider starting a Prayer Warrior Mom group at your church and reading through this book in a semester-long or summer-long Bible study? Whether at church or in your home, I hope youll establish a small group of praying friends that will continue to meet faithfully together as you intercede for your children. Please let me know about your Prayer Warrior Mom group (and the results of your prayers) at my website: www.PrayerWarriorMom.com.
During the writing of Prayer Warrior Mom, I prayed for the Lord to reveal to me some theme passages to serve as the foundation of this book. First, He led me to the following passageprofound words from the lips of Jesus as He fulfilled a centuries-old prophecy recorded in the book of Isaiah. I believe this passage also encompasses the ministry of this book:
The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.
(Luke 4:1819)
The message of Prayer Warrior Mom aligns with Jesus mission: to preach the gospel, to help heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to moms wounded by sin, to restore joy to your oppressed spirit, and to proclaim this year as your season of breakthrough prayer and intercession for your kids.
The second passage affirms our ministry of motherhood and reflects what our attitude should be as we serve our husbands and children as to the Lord (Col. 3:23). This passage undergirds everything we say and do as Prayer Warrior Moms:
Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain. (Phil. 2:1416)
God also led me to a third passage that outlines our spiritual mission, our marching orders as Prayer Warrior Moms:
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. (2 Cor. 10:5 NASB)
